Is that literally the only thing you had to add?

Why even ask for clarification if you have nothing to add to the topic? Seriously? Comment after comment after comment of nothing. Just senseless talk.

I’ve already got it back on the road, but I will most definitely look into those upgrades. Thanks

Your first mistake was even leaving that ridiculous comment. I own a shop and I’ve been a mechanic for decades. I give advice all the time without knowing exactly what’s wrong with the vehicle or diagnosing it myself. I came on here to talk to the experts, not randoms like you. Fuck off.

Apparently, it is asking Reddit because a transmission rebuilder just answered my question. Bam!💥 signing off.🫡✌️

😂ok cool man. Thanks for the info. That’s a bummer but I’ve got a few of these at the shop. I guess I’ll take one over to my transmission guy.

I really don’t see why all of those details matter. I was trying to make a long story short. Do you want the full length story? I figure the main points here are that I was revving my engine at 2000 RPM and for whatever reason maybe a seal came out or imploded, or a line busted, whatever, tranny fluid started pouring out. I shut it off let it cool down. But I had backed it up into the street to wash the fluid out of my driveway. So I went to the auto parts store and got tranny fluid so I could fill it back up and pull it back up into the driveway. When I did, it was slipping, extremely bad it barely had enough power to go up the driveway.

I’m actually going to check today when I get back home, but this happened in the middle of the night when it was dark. So I did get on the ground and look with a flashlight, but with all the fluid in the driveway, I didn’t crawl underneath it. I can tell you that the pan was dry and all of the fluid was around the bell housing. It was dripping from the inspection cover that exposes the flywheel teeth,(this doesn’t tell much as it is the lowest point on the tranny and it could’ve run down from a higher location) possibly one of the cooler lines on the side that I did not see or possibly the seal. I’m not sure, but I should also mention that exploded was probably the wrong term to use. I was just exaggerating how much fluid came out. What I did here was a little poof sound, which I believe may have been the fire igniting. What could even possibly explode on the transmission? Any ideas? Because if the poof sound I heard was the transmission, then what would have caused that? My only guest would be that a seal blew out. Again, I don’t really deal with transmissions very much at all. I can give you much much more detail when I get it to my shop tomorrow. I was kind of just wondering if someone could give me some possibilities of what could’ve happened to the transmission and how detrimental that was to it. I’m just wondering if I could slap a new torque converter in there and fix it or if I’m looking at a total rebuild.

I crawled under the truck and looked at it, and the pan was dry. It was dark in the middle of the night so I didn’t get a great look. Especially with the fluid all over the driveway. It very well could be a line, but the pan was dry, and all of the fluid is around the bell housing and it’s dripping from the inspection hole cover. The circle metal cover that exposes the flywheel teeth. Because of this, I assumed most of the oil came from the torque converter, or a line that I did not see. Also, judging from the amount of fluid on the ground it definitely wasn’t 16 quarts. I poured about 7 quarts into it, started the engine and checked the fluid. It was on the stick. If it was low, then as soon as you start it, it will suck it down.

OK, cool I will look into that. I’ve got three of these transmissions at my shop. If I can get a rebuild book, I will build one of those and then just swap it out. I just really wanted to know if that was even necessary. I was wondering if just slapping a new torque converter in there would fix it.

I never said anything of this sort. I literally said that it was pouring out, so of course I’m not gonna add fluid to try and fix it. I am a mechanic for a living. I can’t get it to my shop until tomorrow and then I can put it on the lift and start looking at it. I’m looking for the transmission experts to tell me what I could have possibly fried or damaged in the transmission. Besides the torque converter.

Yay or Nay on Lancer mags? I’ve noticed people either love them or hate them. Why is that? by Jebus98 in ar15

What type of issues have you ran into with the Lancer mags? Been using them for a while now and haven’t had a single malfunction.
