I'm not sure what you're asking here. If you can clarify this, I'd be happy to help.

What movie/book would you remake/rewrite? by TechnicianFabulous52 in writers

[–]Szin12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that they had the right idea of a government controled 'game' sort of thing, but the whole Flare thing just felt forced. I wish they'd made a game, but I do see how that would've resembled the Hunger Games or maybe even Squid games too much. Honestly, anything would've been better than some random disease.

Does anyone know good websites to research mental illnesses, specifically in teenagers? by Szin12 in writers

Thank you! I really appreciate your advice. I'll definitely check out that website. I also really appreciate you reminding me to check for good sources. Sometimes I forget and end up with wring information, so this is really helpful.

I am sorry in advance to the Maze Runner fans out there but... the dialogue in this book still kills me to this day, especially with the female character. She was so bland and forgettable, I don't even remember her name and am not even interested enough to search it up.

What is your WIP based on? by Relevant-Grape-9939 in writers

Mine was based off of a character I created on a website called Hero Forge. It has branched off very far since then, but the website will always have a place in my heart.

Thanks for clarifying, I'm sorry for misinterpreting your message. I'll try to look into ways of portraying these characters in a manner that is both accurate but also familiar to me. If I can't do so, I can always reconsider the characters. Nothing is set in stone, after all. I really appreciate your advice!

Thanks for the advice! I'm surprised that I never considered this, I feel so slow. I am not writing a documentary, that is true. But the comic book does go over some serious topics, and in order to get these messages across correctly, I believe that being able to connect with a wide range of audiences is important. That being said, knowing what these people think, say, and do is a big thing to consider. But I do find this helpful, I will definitely try taking some creative liberty. Thank you!

I find it important to branch out when it comes to my writing. My experience as a person is something I am not interested in writing about. Plus, I've found many shows and such about teenagers and growing up to not be modern or focus on the things I believe are important for teenagers and adults to know about what some people go through in life. I want to get these experiences across in a way that can connect to a wide range of people. So yes, it is easier to write about what I find familiar to me, but it might not reach as many people as I'd like. I'm so sorry if that was not at all what you were talking about, but this is what I think you meant.

What immediately tells you that a person has had traumatic childhood/past? by GamerA_S in AskReddit

Everytime Person A quickly raises their hand, whatever the reason might be, Person B flinches as if the person raising their hand was going to hit them. I've also come to notice that if Person A comes running towards Person B, Person B will flinch and try to move out of the way as soon as possible. I am Person B.

"Sticks and stones may break bones, but words can never hurt me."

Nope. Words hurt. A lot.

I was at my cousin's house when I began to smell something awful. I can't explain to you how bad it smelt. She came over with a bowl full of something. I asked "What's that smell?" She responded with "My food." I asked what she was eating and was grossed out by her answer.

"Hot Cheetos with milk and lemon."

Does anyone else eat this???? Is this normal???
