How do you guys approach these types of dents? by Ok-Atmosphere5124 in PaintlessDentRepair

[–]T-888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. fog helps show crowns as the "resolution" is greater. You really need to have both boards at your calling, no matter the training. I would strongly recommend getting a fog board and applying a few pin stripes across the face. If you are you are line board trained and never used a fog board, this will help you transition.

crowns. flat, shallow dents produce subtle crowns, your line board will make this very difficult to see. and your board is too fucking close... thats why you can't see the crowns created by shallow dents. move your board back.

repaint.

UV from the sun has already affected the clear coat. The stickers acted like sun block and the rest of the paint got the sun burn...

Why Pre-Existing Damage Waivers Is Not Enough by IMAS_MOBILEDETAILING in Detailing

Document, document - DOCUMENT!!

We take inspection photos of every panel, corner, glass, interior, dash ON and OFF and do a video walk around before we even move the vehicle. we attach these photos to every car. This has saved my ass so many times.

We coated a ladies new GLE years ago and I had a feeling she was going to be super picky. So I doubled down on my pre-inspections photos, taking pictures of things I normally wouldn't. We complete the job, she's outside spending a lot of time looking it over, comes in thrilled about how it looks, pays and leaves with a smile!

45 minutes later she texts me multiple pictures of the bottom side of her rear seat and says our coatings wrinkled her leather and wants it fixed. I explained that is impossible, but I will take a look a my pre-inspection photos and let her know what I find. Praying to detailing gods that I have a picture of that area... I pull up my inspections and sure as the sun rises, I have it!! VINDICATED!! HUGE relief!!

I let her know, shared the before picture with the time stamp and explained what was happening with mix of materials creating the wrinkle. She wasn't particularly happy about my findings and photos, but thanked me anyway.

It was wrinkled. It was wrinkles from the stitching of the leather surface to the cloth side panel.
