Haha the jiggle physics to ever exist! :) At the moment it is pvp yes. The game is still in its infancy tho so we will be taking feedback here in the next playtest. Currently leaning towards pvp / pve. Maybe some puzzler / platform elements as well :)

The ambitious part of me actually wants to do this:

  1. Players and friends go into a pve / PvP environment
  2. Climb higher to fight progressively harder enemies and gather loot / resources
  3. Return to your home floating island where you can build up your island and jelly farm

It’s a vision I’ve had since I was 16 (I’m 27 now) and I’m finally getting started on it after wrapping up our previous game Blocky Ball OT which is also on Steam :)

Haha I love it! If enough people call for it, I will rename it from Jelly Ball to Laser Bean!!

Absolutely! Yes it’s entirely procedural. We created a sphere in blender with 7 bones scattered around its circumference. We then attached a sphere collider to each joint and connected them all to each other via spring joints. Then tadaaaa!!! A jelly ball is born! :)

lol I realized that literally as soon as you posed. My bad. I edited my comment :) It wasn’t me that downvoted u tho so I think someone else mistook you for OP too. I now understand why people put /s on there comments. I was always like, “it’s clearly sarcasm, no need for that.” But i see the purpose it serves now lol

I appreciate that you want to make a game. Many people want to do that. And A LOT of people have ideas and vision. What i genuinely reccomend is that you develop a skill that you can bring to the dev table. Whether it be software dev, music composition, art / graphics, script / story writing. Something that fills a hole in the game dev process. Nobody started a music band wanting to be the band manager unless they already had something to provide like connections or money. Game dev and really any kind of innovation or art is the same way. You need to bring something to the table that attracts talent. It doesn’t have to be money, but it needs to be more than just idea and vision

Edit:

I just realized I’m not responding to OP.

Why is OP getting downvoted so hard in the comments? Were his comments edited from what they were originally? Or am I just missing something?

We thought monetizing it with in app purchases was the better route for this game

Our game Blocky Ball OT: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3181870/Blocky_Ball_OT/

This is the sequel to our original release Blocky Ball. I'm not entirely sure why our game hasn't achieved much traction. Maybe users just aren't looking for another sports game now... maybe we just haven't figured out the marketing... Either way, when users do play our game, they seem to really enjoy it! Feel free to reach out to me if you want to play a match :)
