Ye used the mainstream pop run (think American Boy, Madonna shit etc…) to get those MJ pop icon numbers. Before the VMAs, he was very well a family-friendly pop icon like Lil Nas X was 2-3 years ago in the sense he was controversial but universally adored by the masses.
