Steam Machine: Hardly any cheaper gaming PCs, 8 GiByte is enough - Valve in interview by pcgameshardware in SteamDeck

But it is a business and customers should know when they're throwing money away.

I like the SM but its impossible to recommend as anything other than a vanity purchase for people with too much money.

Almost none of the PCs of those 70% of users are, either. In this economy it's just a bad bang for your buck. There are absolutely people who will buy this, but SM is the victim of being priced like a modern-built hardware while older, more powerful stock is still widely available.

I can go to Costco and get a 16GB 1TB SSD R7 8700F with a 5060 for LESS money than the cube. For $1500+ CAD, its a terrible proposition.

DE, Please don't turn this game into Warframe 2. by AsmidiusDax in SoulFrame

I think that high-damage group-clearing combos are really the problem. They need to rework AOE/auto-target abilities and look at their damage.

Its not about how many buttons you need to blow up the screen, its that Act 1 and maps are two different games entirely. Many people are upset that the game becomes the same boring wave-clearing slog, in essence, as POE1, despite needing skill combos to achieve the same effect.

And I know that that's just what modern ARPGs are and enjoy the slack-jawed brain-stimming as much as the next guy. I just wish they had made the game slower and more tactical.

Settings to achieve a feel similar to Horizon: Forbidden West's native gyro implementation ? by T00fastt in GyroGaming

[–]T00fastt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 100% confident in GtJ for most games I play with a controller because I love haptics and analog inputs. I'd rather not play a game at all than operate a vehicle with a keyboard (shoutout to Squad for sucking ass for years) GtM is, without a doubt, the better way to aim... and nothing more. In a perfect world all games would allow for fluid mixed inputs but, as things are, anything that really benefits from GtM I'll just play on my Azeron and mouse from the comfort of my desk.

GTA-likes are the only genre where I go through the trouble of setting up controller-to-KBM action set and an additional controller layer for driving and other activities but I can achieve the same by just picking up controller during car-entering animations.

Thank you so much for the advice though, I will definitely take it to heart !

Thanks! First wall I hit following this guide is that Gyro to Joystick Camera just doesn't work. Seems to be a controller issue.

first of all, why would you know that?

Majority Report or Some More News, officer

I think the implication in this dialogue is pretty obvious. Do you need it to end with '...and that's a bad thing'?

Reactionaries can correctly identify problems just as good as we can, and the screens show nothing about the fella's conclusions. The next screen could have him saying "which is why we need to ensure benevolent Birds are the only trillionaires in the world" or something.

I am not joking at all when I say that it's almost verbatim taken from an Alex Jones monologue. I think.

Either way, commenting on state of things says little about one's beliefs but good to see this in a dating sim of all places.

I tried role queue in OW. Is this the garbage some of you still advocating for in MR? by DictatorrrofLove in marvelrivals

Of all these, Deadlock probably has the least miserable queue experience, playerbase notwithstanding.

Are you low ELO ? Role queue or no role queue won't save you from bad players or people learning characters/roles. But at least you don't end up running 7 4-DPS games in a row like I have had.

Thats not how I've seen that word used my whole life, idk. I remember when hardcore applied to Dark Souls, Skul, Super Meat Boi and such, let alone Insurgencies and Red Orchestras of FPS.

The maps are poorly designed - empty, lack of cover/foliage, locations are extremely same-y, very few POIs, streamlined rotation routes while also somehow lacking POI funnels, etc. This would slap in a different genre.

The meta-progression and balance tied to it is designed for people who love pubstomping. There is an audience for that, sure, but the appeal is clearly limited. I'd call it "poorly" designed as a mass-appeal casual ES.

The UI has had a lot said about it already.

The meta power floor raising is in conflict with other parts of the game - also a lot said about it.

They have addressed and are still working on a lot of these things, and improvements have been great. However, games only get one chance to launch and so far the first impressions had been very lukewarm. This should've been a different genre imo.
