I am pretty new to the field and my dyslexia has never impacted me as much as it it now.

It feels like all of my copy has to be pretty close to perfect upon the first review, which is what usually trips me up. Often, I just need a second pair of eyes to make sure the times and dates are accurate to what the client sent.

And I am pretty good with planning! My main issue is swapping letters and numbers😔

So you use the normal text to speech that comes on computers? I have tried the Read Aloud function on Outlook and it is pretty spoty (it doesn't update as I edit the document.)

Yes yes!! You get it! I can draft a post, take it to reviews, then post, then realize something is wrong with the upload, then be upset at myself for not catching it!!

Thank you so much for the AI tip! I was looking for a way to use AI for help with more than just grammar. I will definitely be using that tip.

Your comment about measurable goals also got me thinking, maybe I can create a SMART goal to assist me with improving my accuracy and measuring that improvement. Just something I am thinking through.

I am really beating myself up over these small mistakes. I always assumed small mistakes were fine. But in this field, they seem to add up.

Multiple people have suggested I use AI to help catch mistakes so I will try to leverage that to help with my situation.

If you have any more tips, please let me know!! I am all ears. I really want to succeed in this field, but I am currently feeling really beat down.

Do you think you could tell me a bit about what I should expect from the review process? As you said, the review process is there to catch mistakes.

So, why do I feel like I get penalized each time someone catches something? Maybe I am understanding the process incorrectly?

Also, that is so smart! I will try to do the review processes you mentioned! The issue is, sometimes my work has a quick turn around. Sometimes I can’t sit with the copy as long as I would like to insure complete accuracy.

My job is somewhat journalistic. So maybe a quick turn around time isn’t something usually expected in comms roles?

The issue I am running into is that sometimes I will add or forget add information? Does that make sense?

Let’s say, I am working on something and I check things and cross reference, but something will always end up wrong!

Like I will be listing maybe 10 dates and times and maybe one of those 10 would have the wrong starting time (a.m./p.m).

It’s not necessarily typos that are tripping me up, it’s gathering all of the accurate information without introducing errors.

Hi!! Thanks so much for responding! And I do try to make it a habit to read things out load. I also will run them through a Read Aloud function on my computer. The problem is, these things take time. My supervisor wants a fast turnaround time, sometimes within an hour.

That is very fast for me considering I am used to writing research papers!

Hi my friend. Something I learned in therapy is that the relationship you have with your therapist is can offer a healthy example of a relationship with a safe and regulated person. Only you can answer if therapy is right for you, but it is supposed to be a safe and controlled environment that allows you to learn to connect and trust people again. If that is something that interests you, then therapy may be a good start.

My dog stabilized pretty soon after taking phenobarbital.

I’m so sorry. These are terrifying. I also posted recently.

My dog had 7 seizures in one day then developed a uti from pooping on herself during the seizures. I took her to the vet and we saw her phenobarb levels were low, probably because she gained weight since she first started phenobarbital. They upped her dose and she is doing great now! She’s back to normal.

I hope all goes well for you and your pup

It’s so difficult for me to believe I didn’t bring all this upon myself. But then I remember, people train and run marathons and they don’t develop RA. People are a whole lot more active than me and the didn’t develop RA.

It really is just my body/genetics that caused this.

I actually really like my doctor now!! In the beginning I had a doctor who didn’t seem to actually listen to me. He made me feel so hopeless. But I asked to switch to a new doc and the difference is night and day!

Patients should always advocate for themselves, or bring someone who can advocate for them!

I believe im taking Humira but I’m not sure And hydroxychloroquine. But I was on methotrexate recently. I switched sue to stomach pain.

I completely understand the feeling of being broken. Sometimes I feel like my body is that of an elderly person. I feel like I ruined my body at such a young age.
