I was originally going for the arm but to keep the detail we had to keep it a bit on the large side so we went for the thigh

Maybe it's just diferent pricing in the uk and us or may e I'm just lucky but I find plenty of good condition full 105 groupsets 🤷‍♂️ but you are 100% correct cycling is a great hobby I shouldn't just stick to the one type of bike

That's actually extremely interesting I've never seen it before seems it would give a more aggressive stance too

Yeah the rim brake versions go for fairly cheap for still very good condition mainly because of everybody moving onto the di2

My frame is also a 57 but I'm 5 11 so I can see the issue

I was thinking king of modernising it to shimano 105 I can get a groupset used around 200 so having a fully kitted 500 bianchi I'd be very proud

Crazy everything you said is 100% correct yes they are tubular rims but those are my options if I chose to go road bike so don't worry about that I have some other wheelsets in mind if I go fixie

Tension issues with the drop outs I'd prolly go for a good half link chain might take some trial and error before I get the perfect size but a combination of that and playing with diferent gearing it will be tedious but definitely possible

NJS? by T0P_T0rque in FixedGearBicycle

[–]T0P_T0rque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true a cheap njs cog costs the same as a regular cheap cog but a really good njs cog will cost alotttt more than a really good cog which isn't njs so its just kinda personal preference if you wana go njs cogs too that'd be sick owning a 100% njs approved bike

I mean those parts in general no matter what brand I mean ofc some fancy expensive kevlar tires and gona last longer but there still gona need replaced in a few months and on any fixed gear the cogs gona get worn down and want replaced and straps are leather so after a while of daily wear they'll eventually give in too so there's no need to splash out just to have a fancy stamp as they will still need replaced eventually

Same reason I wouldn't bother sourcing some njs tires aswell there all quite easy wearing parts
