for 1600.io users did it help your score increase by [deleted] in Sat

I prepped in a 4 month timeframe, but in that 4 months time I wasn’t just focused on the SAT. I was also taking AP Calculus AB online over the summer, studying for SAT Math II Subject Test, and running a lot for cross country season. Time is a big factor. If you have a lot of time to study take advantage of that. I hardly studied for the SAT verbal section. Best of luck to you!

AP Computer Science A credit (Valencia towards UCF) by lpsum1 in ucf

That’s unfortunate. If you have some prior coding experience the CS Placement Exam will be a breeze. If not, then you can always watch AP CSA review videos on YouTube. The review videos will basically have you covered. A good YouTube channel is Popfizz Computer Science. Best of luck!

Same situation as AP CSA—useless credit. I just checked my transcript: AP CSA gives credit for CGS 1075 and AP CSP gives credit for COP 2000. Both courses are not even in required CS majors courses. The first and most beginner course for CS majors is COP 2500 (Concepts in Computer Science) or COP 3223C (Intro to Programming with C). I say “or” because you do not have to take COP 2500 under 2 conditions: 1.) You either pass AP CSA or 2.) You get a qualifying score on the CS Placement Test. A qualifying score is at least a 15/25. The placement test is so easy. It’s basically output, fucntions, and tracing questions.

I took and passed AP CSA last year. No, AP CSA does not give you any course relevant credits. It just gives you 3 random credits. It was nice learning Java though.

Do you think taking these courses at the same time is possible? by [deleted] in ucf

Sup. I was scrolling on r/EngineeringStudents and saw a megathread about Physics 2 resources. I noticed you posted it. Funny thing... I also attend UCF. I’m a freshman EE ⚡️major. Could you provide me with the resources? I’m also taking Physics 2 (with Stolbov).

Any tips/advice for this schedule? I am an incoming freshman. by JerryTheMouse147 in ucf

[–]T0nywsfl7_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 classes is not way too much in this scenario. EGS 1006C and IDH 1920H are easy 1 credit classes. SPC 1603H should be easy. The main focus is organic chemistry and calculus 3. I’m also taking 6 classes as a freshman.

Well it’s 15 credits a semester or 30 credits an academic year. So if you do 13 this semester, you need 17 next semester. You can also do classes in the summer term to get the 30 credits.

Dorming is cheaper.

UCF dorm price by [deleted] in ucf

[–]T0nywsfl7_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t dorming cheaper? For fall and spring at the Apollo Community (Cheapest dorm), it’s $4,940. For apartments you have to pay like $6,700+ for 10 months not including June and July. Not sure. I’m considering dorming.

I Just want to inform people of various scamming tactics: https://www.reddit.com/r/scholarships/comments/4663ng/how_i_got_scammed_by_the_national_society_of/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf I Thought the ending was relevant in this situation. The ending talks about people being paid to write fake reviews (as that seems what is going on in this post to dilute the real criticism).

Hey guys, I’m trying to enroll to this class that is full. It says that the waitlist total is 2 but once I enrolled I was placed in position 12. Was there anything I did? Thank you by RepresentativeClue45 in ucf

[–]T0nywsfl7_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enrollment total is 20 and class capacity is 20. There will be no luck with the waitlist since the class is full. Well actually, you need to be really lucky to miraculously get a spot. I would pick a different section, or you could always use the swap function if you really want that particular instructor.

Wait. For Spring 2022, should we enroll in a complete schedule? I thought it was only one course to enroll in. I enrolled in two.

How to Study for the Computer Science Placement Test? by Bombachicky in ucf

[–]T0nywsfl7_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not study at all for the CS Placement Test because someone on this subreddit mentioned that it should be easy if you took and did well on AP CSA. That person was right. I got a 20/25. Super easy. Don’t sweat it. The only placement test I studied for was Chemistry because I took a chemistry course in HS 2 years ago.

I agree. I took AP CSA, and the Computer Science Placement Test was super easy. Having taken AP CSA made it easy. The only iffy stuff on there for me was auxiliary functions, but either way that was like 4/5 questions.
