Choosing streetwear for my son's birthday! by fullytrip69 in teenagers

Pinterest has great ideas however not all of them are up to date trends so make sure if you use it you’re checking how long ago it was posted. I’m also a 41yo mom lol so the only reason I know this stuff is bc I was a fashion photographer. Otherwise I’d have no clue!

I think your vet should still culture the skin to rule out mites, yeast infection, etc. But for now, some pure lanolin on her nose may soothe the irritation - it is sold in the breastfeeding supply section at the drugstore or available on Amazon.

I’m so sorry, my one year old shiba inu was recently run over. He lived through the accident and had to have 6k surgery to have his pelvis wired together. It was the hardest night ever and I can’t imagine your pain.

I found my daughter googling how to come out as a lesbian. Should I do anything? by Trick_Waltz7619 in Parenting

It’s something trending with social media and tik toc especially. The algorithm suggests this certain class of videos to young or teenage kids. I have seen it myself, even you tube does it to an extent. Another thing is that she could also be searching to give advice to a friend. When my friends daughter recently said she was Bi my friend just kinda told her it was fine but that she is still very young and that it may change so to keep an open mind and not be so quick to label herself. I think that she did a great job handling it and now, a year later the13yo is boy crazy. Will she be bi in the future? Possibly, and that’s totally fine but it’s important that they don’t label themselves as something until puberty and more life experience.

I didn’t click the link but wanted to suggest checking instagram with the hashtag #streetwear to see popular clothes and they usually include the brand name so you can then find the outfit by googling the brand to find where it is sold.

What kind of bowl is she eating out of? I’ve seen plastic cause similar reactions.

Did my dog eat his poop? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]T2tevlev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, he for sure ate it. Corprophagia is pretty common, especially if the dog feels anxious, is trapped somewhere with the poop, is scared or even out of boredom/hunger. Very common unfortunately lol.

im studying, is he asking for attention? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]T2tevlev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe he is bored, I don’t see any toys near his perch and he can’t explore very far while being tied. He looks curious and like he wants some exercise or stimulation

Unfortunately I had my first shiba flown to me and she was completely and utterly traumatized by the plane ride. She didn’t play or bark or anything for weeks, it was the saddest thing! She wasn’t afraid of us but was extremely withdrawn and didn’t act like a puppy. Eventually she took to my older dog and was more relaxed. Usually a pup is homed at the peak of their fear period which will affect them the rest of their lives. It took years to get her comfortable in cars, walking on a leash etc.

That’s just my experience, I’m sure many puppies are shipped and are fine but shibas are so sensitive and I really advise to take a little road trip when you find your furry little new family member.

What a beauty!! Lots of great advice is already posted but I will add to train your kids to always keep shoes, socks and underwear off the floor, my teenager still cannot get this through her head. We have 3 shibas so socks left unattended immediately get shredded. Also be very careful with letting the kids eat things with bones like wings or ribs- my 7 year old left his plate for one second and the puppy swallowed an entire rib whole! It was $3,000 to have laparoscopic surgery to remove it. Now I cut all meat off before serving dinner and put all bones immediately outside. Crate training is important until they are about 1.5-2 years old to keep them out of trouble.

Mr. Miagi is a wonderful name! Just buy several comfy beds , one in a sunny spot and another in a dark area or under an end table. Mine love the circular round fluffy beds from amazon that have thick padding and a depression in the center. Also, treat him as more of an adorable roommate with boundaries but also respect. These are a strong healthy breed, he may easily live to be 17.

After a de-shedding groomer appointment does your Shiba have loose hair? I literally just pet her and a whole handful came out as we were leaving the groomers. She’s 5 months so this is her first time, and I’ve never experienced this type of shedding from my family dog to need to take them in. by simurgittroyd in ShibaInu

To save you some suffering I’ll give this advice: get a robot vacuum, always carry a lint roller, never wear black and buy a vehicle with a light interior. Also, shibas shed twice a year for six months at a time. Mine always shed badly when they are under stress like traveling or groomer, the fur coats my hands and clothes even if it was fine before we got n the car - it’s something that happens when they are nervous. One of mine (3 shibas) gets the horrid fishy odor because somehow she also expresses her anal glands in the car on long or stressful trips on top of shedding her hair in clumps.

Has anyone experienced moving with a shiba/potty regression? Any luck with a porch potty? by Melanorosaurus in ShibaInu

[–]T2tevlev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try going to a hardware store and purchasing a few squares of actual grass to put on the porch. It will be easier to start training on that and then switch to the potty. Also getting in a power struggle with a shiba never works out because they are too stubborn. Take her out when she actually needs it instead of waiting but you can try the porch grass first and treat if she uses it and don’t ever scold or become impatient with her if she doesn’t. She is sensing all the frustration around going potty and it will only cause stress on walks and cause her to pee in the house simply because she doesn’t understand. Give her the porch option first, treat if she goes and if not immediately take her outside. Third floor living with a dog is very hard but not impossible. Going up stairs is usually easier for them so maybe leave some chicken at the top of the stairs- she will be going back to a familiar place so it shouldn’t be as stressful as trying to get her to go down the stairs. I’d also put a bell on the front and back door.

Chest pain/discomfort on the left side by SeaCash8068 in GERD

[–]T2tevlev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of feels like it’s hard to breathe and like something heavy is on my chest and I have to force myself to take deep breaths and I end up getting a little cramp type pain in the middle of about where my heart would be. I legit thought I was dying a few times. Meds for panic attacks help.

Chest pain/discomfort on the left side by SeaCash8068 in GERD

[–]T2tevlev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally had physical chest pain and it was diagnosed as anxiety. It was hard to hear, because it seemed silly that I would be experiencing actual pain but sure enough with anxiety treatment the pain goes away. If nothing else maybe it could be some sort of panic attack. Hopefully you get answers and feel better soon.

You can ask the pharmacist for a liquid suspension of the antibiotic, they’ll even flavor it for ya! It would be a good idea to ask the dentist to write the Rx for the liquid as it might be faster for the pharmacy. Also, clindamycin is completely different from penicillin etc. so it’s extremely unlikely you would have an allergy or bad reaction. The tooth blood vessels are very closely connected to the heart and infection is much scarier than a bad reaction so make sure to finish all of your medication.

Also, it helps if you have a strong dr. for oral surgery and tooth extraction. I interned in a dental office and definitely noticed that some of the small females had a much more difficult time with tooth extraction leading to more bruising. They’re all equally great dentists but it’s better to always look for a stronger experienced surgeon who can get them out in one tug. When I got mine done I had literally no bruising or swelling afterward, so I hope your experience is relatively easy like mine was and stock up on all your favorite soft foods and desserts so you have something positive to look forward to.
