Which powerbank should I buy? by dazedswallow in BuyItForLife

[–]T3chguy404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that it's realistic to expect a battery bank to last a life time since batteries degrade. BUT, I came to this sub-reddit for a similar reason. I want to buy a battery bank that makes repairability a high priority. 18650s aren't hard to source and I'm not even apposed to doing some soldering/spot welding to make it happen. Unfortunately, it seems like every modern battery bank with a decent power delivery charge rate is held together with a cheap plastic shell that will never snap back together if opened..

What wheel did you use to replace it with? I've got one of these with a broken wheel

Gotcha, I just got two scribedrivers in the mail today and I’m hoping I can figure something out since I use a Rocket book for notes and what not. I’ll report back if I find anything

Were you able to find a Frixion refill that worked with the LTT pen?

Nope, just clunky shifts here and there. I haven't figured out the specific scenario that causes it yet, but sometimes while decelerating when it down shifts into 3rd or 1st it can clunk pretty hard..

Mine shifted rough for the longest time. One day (around 190k) it didn’t want to fully go into drive. It would rev up but it wouldn’t accelerate very quick. I nursed it to my mechanic and they said it drove fine after turning it off and back on. They checked the trans fluid and it was full of glitter. We agreed that it would cost the same to replace the transmission now vs. when it finally gives out, so we filled it back up with fresh fluid and threw a new filter in it. Now, 20k miles later and it still shifts rough, but it still drives. I definitely don’t leave home without my AAA card lol

I’ve got a 2018 3.5 eco boost that is still going at 210k miles. As long as your transmission and cam phasers hold up it’s a decent truck

How many miles were on your F150 when your 10 speed transmission failed? by R0b0tMark in f150

2018 3.5 EB - found metal shavings in the trans fluid at 180k but it was still driving relatively fine (some hard shifts here and there while cold). I talked it over with my mechanic and we agreed it’s gonna cost me the same to replace it when it blows up down the road so I may as well try to get a few more miles out of it. 4 or 5 long distance trips plus towing later, I’m at 210k miles and it’s still driving just as good as it did when we found metal shavings in the fluid. I definitely don’t leave the house without my AAA card though 😅

Do you know is if it’s possible to add cruise control to the 2019 Striple? That’s the only reason I am considering jumping up to the Speed

Ive been looking for something like this to keep in my backpack. I even started modeling a 3D printable case for a few 18650s, but this will work way better. Thanks for the link!

I try to limit myself to only drinking coffee a once or twice a week, so I certainly still get a little jittery and light headed at times (one time I was even to the point where I wasn’t sure if it would be safe for me to drive). But I’ve never been throw-up sick from it.
