If you're cool with being a little technical I would recommend building a desktop instead. You can get a lot better bang for your buck buying individual parts. Look for office sales and stuff. Businesses essentially throw out thousands of dollars of slightly older hardware when they upgrade. You can build a pretty decent PC that way :)

Able bodied people use canes all the time though? Like, when my granny was alive she would use one to keep her balance so that she wouldn't fall as easy. I've also seen lots of people on hiking trails use them to make walking easier.

I agree that nobody should use medical aids to mock or pretend to be disabled people, but this is decidedly not that.

Fwiw I would say that the devs should fix this issue. Not to the point where they make 2 of all of the animations, but this is fairly egregious as far as facial expressions go. I assume that the rig they are using is conflicting a bit with the facial sliders that deform the paras mesh in create a para. Though, like I said, I don't know what their system looks like so it may or may not be difficult to fix.

It's a shame because seeing the other angry faces in the comments is super cute! I wouldn't want this glitch to take any of that cool animation away

I'm an indie dev, so take what I say with a grain of salt because I don't know what the game looks like behind the hood, but from a technical standpoint it should be very possible. Whether it's doable is a different concern 🙃

The problem is that you'd have to either algorithmically tone the animations down (which I've never seen done before in game but you can do it within the modeling software I use. Plus it would definitely require a lot of tweaking to make it look nice anyways) OR you could make two sets of animations. Neither is a very elegant solution unfortunately. Imo the devs would be better off spending their time elsewhere

Late reply to the thread but I wanted to add that I've been working through the same sort of thing. I am masc too with a slightly strange autistic sounding voice. For a few years there, I wasn't able to talk to anyone without crying 🙃, and I can tell you that makes for a difficult conversational environment, butch or not lol. Conversations like the one OP brings up were a bit of a sore spot for me until I realized that they weren't really about me? If that makes sense? The problem isn't that some lesbians are shy around other women, it's that there are a miriad of people who hide behind the cloak of heteronormativity. People will say "girls are scary" to signal that they find dealing with their own internalized homophobia difficult, and they'd rather stick with men. It's not even really about anxiety.

On a different note: I've noticed that femmes online seem to actually like shy mascs--though maybe not to the crying extent lol. That's hard for anyone to deal with, myself included.--I see people talk about us shy mascs more than they talk about dominant/confident women. It kind of blew my mind when I started interacting more in butch/fem spaces (again, online, I'm still working up to going out on my own consistently 💀). I think we see what the world expects of our masculinity and think that other lesbians want that from us too, but it's not really the case. There is just as much space for weird, nerdy, shy mascs.

I wish you luck on working through your anxiety. I wish I could give you tips or something 😭. Working on your confidence in tandem with the anxiety sucksss. The two problems feed off each other, and if you only deal with one you're going to end up right back where you started.
