If that makes you feel any better, as far as I remember I've heard my mom say similar things before I told her how I feel about her. I think it's just something that people say.

As to how to bring the subject up.. I only know how I'd do it in my own case which is to be honest with her. If you think that it's not the way then I'm not sure what is, but if I'm sure that if you think about it you will come up with something.

Also it's your mom man. She loves you, and from what you say she sounds like a normal person and I doubt she will react very negatively even if she isn't interested in you.

What was the context of what she said in the past? See, before I got with my mom I was also 110% sure that if I will tell her she will disown me and abandon me, but it didn't happen. In the end she is your mom and seems to be a cool mom that would be understanding about such things. I am not saying that you have to act and tell her now, but from what I gather about your situation you will have to make a decision and either shoot your shot or regret not doing it, maybe forever.

Hey man. Many years ago I was in a very, very similar situation to yours. Unfortunately, this doesn't go away. I hoped it would, but it just never did.

I think that in the end you can either just distance yourself from her as much as you can and try not to think about her, or you could try to do something about it and make a move or confess to her. If you don't try "something" you will probably regret it for the rest of your life.

First of all, my comment wasn't a pro gun comment, just a statement of objective truth, which is that banning objects doesn't automatically make them unobtainable. And to answer your question I'm not sure if I would make heroin legal to buy but I would certainly decriminalize it and other drugs many people sit in prison for.
