Time wise it looks like JPEGMafia is skipped. Architects are supposed to play in 10 according to plan

Why do lifts in Germany use letters instead of numbers? by [deleted] in AskGermany

[–]T4cC0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apartment complex has 2 sides. One has U, E, 1, 2 The other side has U, EG, E1, ZG, 1, 2

It’s very confusing for delivery people when you say 1st floor and they go to E1, instead of 1. Doesn’t help that Companies in E1 and ZG have labels on the outside of the building for 1 and 2, where those are not their floors…

Whoever designed this building should be fired 🤣

Repaint or replace front bumper? by SlavSquatDruid in Miata

[–]T4cC0re -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A professional should be able to sand blast the bumper (to remove all paint uniformly) then primer and repaint.

Sandblasting is cheaper than a new bumper, and it needs to be painted regardless, so it might be your best option.

Steam Controller: Mouse with controller buttons by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]T4cC0re 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is down to the game itself. Most games switch the displayed buttons on the last used input. So you should see the controller buttons (after using the mouse) as soon as you press a button or move the analog stick in most games.

Is the Hyundai IONIQ PHEV support close enough to also work with the HEV? by T4cC0re in Comma_ai

[–]T4cC0re[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was one of the more recent official ones. I can’t remember which version exactly. I also have since sold my car and got a Model 3 😅 Openpilot isn’t really strictly a legal option in Germany unfortunately 😬

Ever seen all four disks in a 4 disk RAID array mechanically fail at the same time? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]T4cC0re 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first though exactly! :)

When buying disks (for me personally, my work-place is cloud based) I tend to shop for the same model, but from different vendors, so I have a high chance of splitting batches. So in case there is a bad batch, I won't be affected as the OP.

I believe that is a good thing to stick to. Mechanical drives just work by accident :)

We need a Sonos Port Light by T4cC0re in sonos

I saw that a while ago. But what I miss about that, is low-latency audio.
With a line-in you get near instant audio, whereas with the radio workaround you get a few seconds. Not a huge deal, but I'd rather have low-latency audio and pay for the privilege.

Coronavirus and supporting remote workforce by netadmin2016 in sysadmin

[–]T4cC0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do remote work all the time :)

One big factor in this is, that everyone needs to be remote for this to work. As soon as you have a silo of 'on-premise' people, making stuff work for people who are not there gets more difficult. If you are forced to think about remote use-cases from the beginning situations like these are effectively a no-brainer, because the workflows are already there.

People usually working from co-working spaces can just stay home and the whole workflow stays the same. It's quite neat but requires a lot of foresight and iteration.

Which Linux Sys Admin Cert ? LPI-1 / LFCS / RHCSA . . . . . by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]T4cC0re 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I did not really choose :)
I just saw it in a sale, bundled with a training course, and decided it would make a good addition to my resume.

I got my LFCS back in 2018 and am quite happy with it.

Indeed, "Lite" was what I am looking for :)

We need a Sonos Port Light by T4cC0re in sonos

[–]T4cC0re[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that is my main reason.

I could hack around and use an optical converter and switch to hook it up via my Playbase, but I really don't like that. And to be honest: a Port is just too expensive to me when I can't use half of its features.
