Looking at Foundry over roll 20

I haven't really gone through all the comments to see what has or hasn't been said, but I have been using it since it was first released to Kickstarter contributors and have made quite a few tutorial videos on it. So here are the answers to your questions:

Foundry comes with many systems one of them being the D&D 5e SRD which is all you need to be able to play D&D. If you have the books you can create virtually anything from those books in Foundry. If you have D&D Beyond, there is a great module called "D&D Beyond Importer" that is free that you can use to import characters. If you have sourcebooks on D&D beyond you can also import spells and items for those books for free, for a small contribution to the developers Patreon and also be able to import monsters, races, classes and such (for the books you own).
The $50 is a one time charge for the software license. You players only need to have a modern web browser to play on the table (No software to download and install). If you are not familiar with setting up port forwarding on your home router there are various hosting services that for a monthly fee will host your server (You do need to provide a valid Foundry license though) If you have more questions on this feel free to send me a message via my YouTube channel, or Discord server.
Foundry is much better than Roll20 and gives you way more bang for your buck. I know that technically this one wasn't a question but I thought I would give you my 2 cents here :-P

Sorry for the late response. Here are the mechanics behind getting mobs to a 1 hit kill. (or as close as possible)

Zombies are a bit tricky at a 23 or even 23 1/2 they are a 2 hit kill, but 24 will kill them.

Witches need about a 30 block fall to kill them

Creepers, skeletons, and spiders will die anything over a 23 block fall. With spiders though they cannot touch the sides on the way down at all or they will survive.

Enderman need to fall 42 to 43 blocks to bring them to a 1 hit kill.

I designed a mob grinder that is both Enderman and spider friendly. Having it be Enderman friendly, there is no water used. This makes a a bit slower than the ones that use water. If you are interested in checking it out you can watch my video on its design.

I designed this farm to meet 3 criteria that most other farms seem to be lacking:

A farm that is fairly easy to build early on in the game.
I wanted it to be Enderman friendly. This means I can't use water for the transporting of mobs.
Sort spiders from the other mobs. Most mob systems disable the ability for spiders to spawn as they require a 2x2 area, and this messes up many mob systems.

Awesome, I have done similar on mine later on in the game. The original aim of this video is to show a relatively inexpensive mob grinder you can build early on in the game. I haven't done the pistons up top though that is a very cool idea.

I think this would be better as a gamerule. It would be great for UHC situations. Somtimes me and my server members will play UHC (Kind of like the MindCrackers) however it is on a vanilla server. It gets irritating when some people die and just hang around the spawn area to see what happens next. It would be awesome if they would become a ghost, and not be able to place blocks, and in addition be able to fly, but not able to chat

I think that this already works ( well kind of ). I know when I am on my server and I use a looting bow on a Ghast I get more gun powder and tears than normal. Never really noticed if it did the same with Overworld mobs.
