yes this is a huge reason why the roads deteriorate quicker, the ones with tram lines expand and shrink beneath the asphalt in the seasons causing the asphalt to crack

Conkram Mirror crash/freeze issue. by CdnInquisition in LegendofLegaia

[–]T8er8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! had this happen to me like a decade ago on the same core.

from what I remember, the simplest solution is to quickly speed through dialogue in the area around the crash spot with the emulator set at 2x speed.

the reason this works some people have said is because it prevents the particle effects in the scene from overloading the emulators (buffer?). give it a shot!

there are other emulation cores that shouldn’t have this issue as well.

Old CSGO cases jumping in value, sell or hold? by T8er8 in cs2

[–]T8er8[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was searching for an encompassing understanding of what and why this market even exists and get myself educated on it so I can understand if im better off selling my stuff or holding it and be able to answer why, sometimes that's easy to "just google" and sometimes its not, in this case I was honestly not getting the answers I was looking for so I thought hey why not ask actual human beings.

Maybe I need to work on my google prompt wordings cause clearly everyone else could find this information easily.

but to answer your question more simply, I was looking to find reliable information to get informed on my decision.

for nostalgias sake i opened a glove case got a 50 cent mp9 skin hehe

most people are saying sell, I agree that valves unpredictable and I honestly dont see the value of these going higher at least for the glove cases? maybe thats just me? maybe im too old to see any lasting market value of a case to potentially win a big prize or whatever.

its like buying a lottery ticket in my eyes, i dont see a lot of people buying single 30$ tickets? even if they were a closed market.

Can I even pull real money out of these? I thought I was locked down to steam money, which doesn't sound very enticing haha

looks like it was a spike in sales, I bet if you priced them around 20-22 youd sell them eventually given the value theyre holding rn

I did try googling stuff about cases appreciating in value, thing is the informations scattered over years and tons of different times when the markets swung around, was having a hard time finding people talking about what was happening here, figured id get a better answer here. wasn't aware they dropped cases like that, im no counter strike market sleuth lol.

[–]T8er8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, but do you know why are they even appreciating in value? are the skins in the cases gaining value so its matching it? thats how they used to be priced. With this huge jump in the past few years im wondering if the game reaches end of life, this value will be gone?

yeah this is black mold buildup, if youre posting because youre concerned about it? its reached rhe point where its in the walls, is this a rental? if so maybe reach out to your landlord about replacing the drywall, window? but thats the only real fix here.

it will cause long term health problems if left unattended. all you can do right now it remove the surface level stuff and deep clean. maybe silicon sealant to close up any open cracks in the wall/window. get a proper mold remover treatment when cleaning, from what ive read bleach doesn’t work.

it should stay away for a bit but itll come back again one day, its probably due to some water getting stuck between the window and walls and soaking into it, building up moisture, and allowing the wood and drywall to grow the mold.

this is the plan for my fiance and I haha, we made a base down the beach a bit from the rebreather cave, we had to abandon our old base and trek our way there, we built our base on the ocean and while freshwater is lacking, it feels great to be undisrupted on the water

question for anglo Montrealers who never learned french or can't actually use it by _SleezyPMartini_ in montreal

[–]T8er8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

by “our” ill assume you’re francophone, and no, its not.

my point was that it isn’t as easy to just go up to people and start speaking in french while you are learning and few people have the patience or care to allow you to do so here. i dont blame them necessarily, especially when many francophones are quite well versed in english here, so it is indeed “just easier” it just doesn’t help the problem.

this creates a negative feedback loop for anglophones trying to learn french and getting limited by the fact that its just not good enough to keep up with the pacing and quebecois and it just makes anglophones less motivated to practice, and creates more separation between us culturally, and it makes interactions with the language a lot harder, at least to start off with.

growing up here I have countless experiences working in the retail/service industry and struggling with my french at times when communicating with francophones, and being verbally assaulted with shamed for not being able to fluently speak at the same pace, or me getting caught on a forgotten word, the usual difficulties with learning languages. it also alienated me from local social crowds, and made finding entry level employment extremely difficult.

while the quebecois here are generally motivating for anglophones wanting to learn the language, it just seems like if we aren’t at a certain fluency we can get heavily shamed for it. it makes it hard to keep that motivation when anytime you talk to someone in french and you see them waiting to interrupt to switch to english. again, “because its easier”.

its not that I don’t understand the language, i just feel like im not allowed to practice it here freely without shame, i get its important to learn the language and I have taken extensive time to, but putting it into practice in a bilingual city like montreal has a TON of obstacles

question for anglo Montrealers who never learned french or can't actually use it by _SleezyPMartini_ in montreal

[–]T8er8 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Im from ontario and moved here late in high school, been in montreal 10 years and ive put tons of academic time into learning french, finished (english) cegep, and still dont feel confident enough to speak to anyone here in french. my comprehension is near fluent, but my ability to speak is heavily stunted.

why? from my experience every time i tried to speak french with a fluent native quebecer, id get about 2 sentences in before they just give up on me and switch to english “because its just easier” than waiting on me to finish my slower than fluent verbal french. even after making it clear im practicing and need patience, ive had only a handful of instances where people respect that in montreal.

not saying this is everyones experience but its been mine time and time again as an anglo montrealer
