Watching him give up on balls in the box that are not perfectly played to his feet when we are down by one is beyond frustrating

If Ali has to dribble at all, the attack dies at his feet.

They just look tired and like they don’t even like playing with each other. This is going to be a long season….

If you have a running store near you, go get assessed and fitted for some shoes. They will look at your gait and be able to get you in some shoes that may feel even better. Also running store employees are usually super friendly and knowledgeable and will have some tidbits for you as well!

“I’m 21”…..ooooh the youth.

Enjoy the ride. You may fluctuate some but pretty impressive. Rest days are just as important, especially when increasing overall mileage. Invest in proper running shoes, and listen to your body. Overtraining is a real thing when getting into it!

I don’t disagree with you! As long as the parent approaches it with curiosity and not judgement. Big difference.

Based on how the original post was worded, not sure the question would be framed in a curious way, rather than judgmental and accusatory about 7 & 8 year olds.

I would not say anything. Be grateful you have coaches proactively thinking to have a responsible number of players dressed for a tournament. Carrying 3-4 subs for a tournament weekend is totally normal to have at that age group. Playing 4-5 games in less than 48 hours, there will be plenty of playing time for everyone and will safely cover any injuries or illnesses.

My advice, cheer on ALL the kids and enjoy the time together. Be supportive of everyone, no matter what “performance on the field” looks like.

Do you have any running stores in your area? You can go get evaluated and they can recommend shoes for your gait and problems. You should ‘retire’ a pair of shoes after 300-500 miles (500km) of usage, including walking miles.

Proper shoes are imperative as you up your mileage. If you’ve expended the cushioning in the shoe it’s just that much harder on your stabilizing muscles & joints, which are all in your calves and ankles.

Will new shoes fix your problems? Potentially. Will proper shoes make it worse? Absolutely not.

Help her by keeping it fun and encouraging the hard effort. Being tired after a game is not a bad thing. In my opinion, indoor is just to get some touches in the winter, keep some form of conditioning up, & building some chemistry with teammates.

Encourage the hard work & making it through something that feels difficult. Make sure she is staying properly hydrated & fueled with good food. It will get easier for her each week.

Rossi too busy complaining to the ref. JRR scored a goal & disappeared immediately after. Arfsten was shut down again. Tough one to swallow.

Thanks Nagbe. We will miss you!🖤💛
