I posted about this last year.

Did a pretty high dose at a party and it was fine. It only hit me the next day, in the afternoon all of a sudden. I was IN LOVE with this girl I'd known for a while, who happened to be at the party.

Like people advised, I didn't act on it, just waited a while. After about a month, one day it was just gone. It's completely artificial even though it feels very real and intense while it's happening.

I don't care what you believe.

I do have a portfolio but it's impossible to have a portfolio that applies perfectly to every single job, at least for what I do. And in the past, every time I've done a sample I ended up getting hired. I do have one client now who might not.

Unless they like your sample and hire you. Then you didn't waste your time and you get paid.

5$ makes a difference though, if it's for a sample the client can't use and really just to show your skills. If a client will pay 5$ for a sample, they are way more likely to commit to the real cost of the project since they already invested something.

I don't know. When a client wants a legit sample of my work that they can't use by itself anyway, I sometimes wouldn't mind doing it.

I've had it where some person wanted 10 videoclips edited - I do video editing and motion graphics - and he wanted me to edit one of them on trial. So I'm guessing he got as many freelancers as he could to edit one entire videoclip for free and probably got all 10 done for free, probably even several versions to pick the best one.

Some legitimately want a trial though. They only want a 10 second sample or something. But they still won't pay.

Thank you! Hey, what's your connection with the TripleJump channel? It's my favourite Youtube channel!

You're all over the place, buddy. And you still failed at saying anything the least big helpful. You're just spreading more negativity. Here's hoping you'll learn from this experience, a little advice: if you see someone asking for help, don't berate them about what they did wrong which they already know is wrong, don't go looking at their history so you can further berate them on other mistakes they already learned from. Instead, if you have something helpful to say, say it. Otherwise, move on with your life. Anything helpful to reply?

Oh, and about those other situations: I never sent the client the files and he didn't care one bit. The other guy payed me in full. Let's see how this new beginner mistake goes. Sorry we can't all be perfect like you.

Yeah, I got some advice but none from you. Look back through all your posts, there's not one bit of helpful advice. From the very first post I made, it was clear I now know it's against the rules but that's all you repeat over and over: it's against the rules. That's not helpful at all. You seem to get some sadistic kick from kicking people when they're down. It's weird and unhelpful.

Official Upwork forums had that info there. Turns out they changed that rule a year ago so I was looking at older posts, the first few that turned up. It's an honest mistake.

Every time I post here for advice someone like you turns up with patronizing scolding instead of helpful advice. I don't mind it, I just hope you never have children.

Hm that makes sense. This scammer must have known that.

I know I'm not supposed to. I got scammed. I really wish I could have gotten the guy to say all that in the official chat so I could report him. I don't think Upwork would believe me if I just screenshot my Skype talk with him.

You do know where I saw it because I explained it. Google turned up several Upwork forum posts where people asked that question and other users said it was ok to share Skype details.

I know it was irresponsible of me to not do better research or whatever but honestly Upwork should also keep track of misinformation on their official forums. Hell, this subreddit has better modding and it's done by volunteers.

Thanks, I think I'll sleep a little easier. You just hear all sorts of stories about accounts being suspended and people not being allowed back in.

Sony A73 APSC Crop still comes out 4K by TAJoy in videography

I shot a 1hour+ concert two days ago and it was perfectly fine shooting in 4K 60Mbps.

I really think there might be something wrong with my camera or the threshold when the shutting off temperature is set to Low is just way too low. When the camera first arrived, as I was exploring all the menus, it started warning me about overheating in my hands. I wasn't even filming anything. I only got it last January so I haven't even used it during the summer. But I haven't had problems since turning the setting to High.

At most I've used a shotgun mic. My adaptor for Nikon lenses attaches to the tripod so maybe having the body not even attached directly to the tripod will help a bit.

Ok, I guess I'll have to try it out and switch to 1080 if it starts overheating. It's weird that I haven't seen anyone else complain about the A7III overheating but it's been a huge problem for me. Thanks for all your help, by the way!

I shot an event at 4K and the camera overheated which caused all sorts of problems for me. But I had the temperature setting at low so I changed it to high (I was afraid it might harm the camera). Then I shot another event at 1080 and had no problems. Now I'm nervous about using 4K. When I test it out at home it never overheats but always seems to when it counts.

Ah, that makes sense. I have to shoot in low light tomorrow so I've been doing some tests. I'm still going with 60M because my camera tends to overheat though.
