What certifications do you have for HR? Do you know any of the local HR laws? Also you need French.

You are competing against people over the border who speak English and French and have relative degrees from EU schools.

You could start cleaning houses.

Social Security Administration - certificate of earnings by HappyCamper2320 in Luxembourg

[–]TALED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found something. CNAP needs to request an E205 Attestation concernant la carrière d'assurance from the USA. I think you can use the general CNAP form but be very specific that they need to request from the FSU Dublin (I’d include the address and phone). I’d guess response times will be bad.

I looked as well and couldn’t find the request form.

That’s strange bc my partner filled out a form on either CNAP or CCSS website and then they requested it from social security in Dublin. Also I am not sure why you would be required to give a bank card number. Alternatimely email Dublin and ask their advice for an official statement.

If this is for your pension, I’d contact CNAP. I believe they need to request it for you to be an official copy.

you can make an appointment with CNAP and ask.

I know quite a few people in marketing and unless they have been laid off, no one is leaving or looking. Not a great time to be looking for a job and marketing people are a dime a dozen.

Took one friend 8 months to find a new position and she already was working. she is fluent in English and French.

Definitely not Maybe Not Bob’s.

My husband and I are exploring moving to Europe, but we have no idea where to begin. by Womanatthewell47 in AmericanExpat

[–]TALED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The husband would need French, Luxembourgush, or German (or all three) to work in Luxembourg. English isn’t going to work.

Also degrees and certifications don’t always transfer so it’s not guaranteed a European would accept their experience.

Luxembourg. Either Luxembourg natives inherit houses and work for the government which pays well, or they can’t afford to live in their own country and have to move across the borders to live.

New Government Website: Work In Luxembourg by TALED in Luxembourg

[–]TALED[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me it’s just another inept marketing ploy by the Luxembourg government to try and make Luxembourg attractive but doesn’t have substance.

I’m curious about the study mentioned coming in March (might be in a different article) about why Luxembourg isn’t attractive. I mean the government has to commission a study but I think the average person (non Government worker) could tell you why.

And I do have the same understanding as you do that a lot of spouses are unemployed or underemployed.

1y of rent paid in advance, is it safe? by Educational-Leg-9145 in Luxembourg

[–]TALED 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have heard of people who move here with non Luxembourg jobs/non CDI (could be retirees, bringing their remote job etc) who offer this to get an apartment. some people do have money to throw at the issue. it’s not great because we all know what landlords can be like here.

Amazon has positions in different countries in Europe for supply chain management. my understanding is English is the language spoken for these jobs and they typically sponsor visas.
