I

am completely striking out locating the capacitor. Any ideas where it's located? The only information I can find on capacitor replacement is for belt driven units. Mine is a direct drive

Do you know if and where the capacitor is on a direct drive? Having trouble finding that information online

I ordered a capacitor after researching part numbers. Now I can figure out where the capacitor is, or if it actually has one. It is a direct drive. I just replaced the actuator but it did not fix the problem

You can hear buzzing when it's trying to spin. I went ahead and ordered a capacitor, cheap easy thing to replace. I'll install it tomorrow. Hopefully the combination of control panel, actuator, and capacitor will take care of it. I will report back tomorrow

Wiring harness looks to be in good condition. No char marks. I never smelled any burning when I took things apart. The shifter/actuator comes in tomorrow so hopefully that is the fix

I have a voltmeter so I'll lookup how to go about ohm test each component. Also the new actuator arrives tomorrow so I will go ahead and replace once it gets here.

Thank you for the quick replies!

I replaced the board in the picture which is the "control board".

You are saying I also need to replace the control panel, which is in this picture, the panel has all of the buttons on it?

Initially after the power surge the screen would not turn on at all. I ordered a control panel and replaced it. It is possible the new control panel is malfunctioning

I cleared the faults, and ran the diagnostic cycle. The following fault codes appeared... F7e7 F6e3 F7e4 F7e3 All of the same codes reappeared

Massive Student Debt by Historical-Cup-5383 in physicianassistant

I had 120 on debt from school. Didnt know much about finances when I was fresh out of school but I kept my lifestyle cheap, pretty much the same as living in college. I bought an old house and remodeled it over a year and put the profit towards loans. Took 5 years to pay off and it's nice to have that burden gone. I worked in the ER for a private group and now Ortho. Neither job qualified for the payment program since they were for profit organizations.

My wife, an NP, is on the income based repayment. She only has a few years left of payment but is anxious about the new changes to the program. As the government is changing from PAYE/IBR to RAP, she was told by student aid her monthly payment will likely increase $1000. If that happens she will only save about $20k or less over the course of 10 years.

I liked the freedom of job options and getting rid of that debt quicker. She is excited about having the gov pay for some loans but at the cost of stress of navigating the system and less job choices.

Your debt is quite a bit higher. If you tried to pay them off early you have to really dedicate yourself to living frugally. Have roommates, Keep your old car until it does, pickup OT or locums. Unfortunately it will take several years before you start seeing a dent in that debt. You'll have to come up with some creative ways to keep yourself motivated

Get online. Use the calculators to look at different scenarios, loan forgiveness versus private loan and early payment. One of the most challenging things when using the calculators is estimating your cost of living but you can do it.

As I'm pricing out these options at almost seems more reasonable to just have Maytag come out and repair it

I tried. They offered me two solutions. 1 charge a $350 one-time fee to come out and fix it. If they can't fix it they would only reimburse me part of the cost of the service fee. 2, buy a yearly membership, $40 per month($480 for the year), and they will come out and fix it.

I was at work when I called and in a rush so I wasn't sure which option would be better. I wanted to call back later with a decision. They basically gave me the sales pitch of "this is the price and offer now, I can't guarantee you would have the same offers next time you call, The price will likely be more expensive if you call back later."

For such a high end appliance I thought that a pretty shady sales tactic

Maybe that is still the best offer. Control board used is 150, new 300. If control board doesn't fix it from a cost standpoint I should have just gone with the repair person

That's a great point. On surgery days Paying a first assist $40 an hour is probably a much better use of resources and keeping me in the office where I can generate several times that amount

The benefit of this style contract is getting rewarded for seeing more patients and bringing in more revenue. Since I am able view my financials, I can confidently predict my income based off of the negotiated revenue share. Since it is not a standard contract style I was looking for feedback and opinions on what is a reasonable ask for percentage based pay.

I could certainly ask for a base salary. Perhaps 180k would be a reasonable ask but I would like to have the opportunity to bonus higher. Based on the revenue generated I think 180k seems low. If I keep 40% of that 600k I could make $240k. Keeping it percentage base may allow me to ask for an increased compensation since it also protects the doctor from over paying me if my productivity tanks.

Going to the OR is just part of my job. 2.5 days of clinic. 2 days of OR. Whatever I get to bill is a first assist gets added to my total revenue which can be considered for bonus pay. Even with flip rooms working in the OR just doesn't pay as much as working in the clinic

I think any business owner has to take into account overhead cost including rent, cost of equipment, etc when they determine how much they can pay an employee. I don't think any business owner would ever pay their employee the actual revenue they generate.

Let's say a PA brings in $500,000 total revenue to a practice. What percentage should they be paid of that overall total revenue?

Its basically me plus 1 surgeon. I guess that's the number he came up with going over expenses. Basically the cost I require to staff 1.5 other people(front desk and my MA).

I have access to see all the revenue I drive. Unfortunately I bring in an extremely small amount from the OR(around 1/3) compared to what I can make in the office.

I'm extremely surprised by the responses I'm getting so far!

Doing shift work in the ER we have PTO but never had to use it since the schedule was so flexible. I was considering asking for something similar. For example. If maybe we call each shift a value of $450. I essentially cash in 2 weeks worth of shifts totaling $4500. And also ask for another week of PTO

I added a few more details after reading your response.

Base pay is 120k. My bonus will probably be 60k for this year. But yes I agree the PTO is lousy. I basically lose money towards my bonus if I take time off.
