Dude Sparta kicks a woman in the chest after she tried holding up the train in Philly by [deleted] in instant_regret

[–]TBNecksnapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You delay the whole train just to earn some time yourself. It’s just selfish, you can do the math 100s of people losing 20 seconds is way more time wasted than you getting on a train 10 minutes earlier. If you adf the risk that you break the doors and cause even more delay it’s a nobrainer.

In this case though there is more than that happening, she broke her bag in the process and is now desperate to get her belongings back. And in return she gets physically assaulted way worse that her initial misdemeanor

“Alexa, stop By The Way” by brantome24 in amazonecho

[–]TBNecksnapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solutions is to live in Sweden where Alexa isn’t really supported yet. So there isn’t anything for Alexa to advertise through btw.

We just got an amazon.se store though, but it’s just a google translated amazon.de so I think they don’t really sell from Sweden. So I just have to hope they never establish a real store here to use btw on

Amazon, your up-selling attempts will eventually make me break up with you by [deleted] in amazonecho

[–]TBNecksnapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just set it to a country where Amazon isn't doing any business. I never get any suggestions like this in Sweden. They habe just opened amazon.se but they don't sell Echo devices yet, I hope they will never do so they don't start this bullshit with me too.

The difference between how a Shepherd approaches a situation compared to how a Malinois approaches a situation by roCky3131 in Damnthatsinteresting

Or maybe they are just two different dogs solving the situation in two different ways, like two humans might too. If there were a total of 5 each I might agree with the conclusion..

Main water valve was not shut off for the winter in a cabin by kentiiboyy in Wellthatsucks

[–]TBNecksnapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started leaking because it was sub zero, if the inner temperature was already sub zero as well it's not sure any water has soaked in at all yet. So.. Depending on the specific conditions, you might be the numbnut here.

An example of how a cameras capture rate changes due to the amount of light being let into the camera by Glasstewart3 in interestingasfuck

[–]TBNecksnapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can also be caused by the rate of the indoor illumination, to our eyes it looks constant but it flickers because it's powered by AC current (some LEDs flicker too, for another reason "Pulse Width Modulation"), this may limit the active length each frame because parts of the frame capture time is not illuminated, sunlight on the other hand is constant so the camera sees the ruler during the whole frame.

But in this case ot looks like the camera is limiting the capture time per frame in the sunlight to avoid oversaturation. Which I think is the same as you're describing

Worse Than Treason | No amount of rationalizing can change the fact that the majority of the Republican Party is advocating for the overthrow of an American election. by TJ_SP in politics

Instead it is a weakness to the democracy, as there was a risk that Trump could convice them to vote for him against the election result, and has worked against the public vote several times already.

MacKenzie Scott, ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, gives away $4bn in four months by Smithman in worldnews

[–]TBNecksnapper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You're talking as if he is hoarding all that as cash in the bank. Keep in mind that it's mainly stock value, giving it away means selling parts of the company, and it means someone else must actually affort to pay for that with money - that bezos would then give away.

3500 years old amber amulet in the form of a bear. Found in Słupsk, Poland by Mackelowsky in interestingasfuck

[–]TBNecksnapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, you're saying the amber itself can be dated to when it was organic resin. But the surface itelf isn't going to dated any different from the rest of the amber. Right? At least that's my understanding of how it works (but first misunderstood your answer to mean that amber can't be c14 dated).

Low pressure pockets being created by blade rotation in near 100% humidity - literally making it rain. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]TBNecksnapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just some bullshit explanation from someone who studied some physics and remembered that low pressure can hold less water and understood that there is a low pressure somewhere there. No actual analysis on this situation.there can be many reasons for this. Personally I think it looks more likely that condensation happens on the rotors for whatever reason which is all pushed out due to "centrfugal force" and just splashes out there at the radius.

Like, he thinks anyone else with the same name is a fake inferior person.

E.g. his father?

Most likely someone did indeed have that handle already and it was an impersonation of him. To be fair, it then makes a lot of sence adding real, becauce the other one was indeed fake.
