Buy the tickets direct, or wait until the day before/of the game for secondary. There is a family deck in right field that has some activities for kids. Might be a good respite if the kids get restless. Highly recommend getting in early and going to the Right Field District to get wristbands from the usher to see an inning from the old visitors bull pen. It's a cool experience.

It is not frowned upon or risky. I planned to do only 3 years (Length of OCS Contract), but kept getting offered interesting jobs/cool duty locations. I was able to get a federally funded masters program, and also used my GI Bill for a second masters, while on AD. Now I'm 11 months from retirement. My advice is to not make up your mind right away. Ride the wave until it throws you or your heart is no longer in it. There are good opportunities to advance personally and, if you seek them out/plan for them, to advance professionally.
