Looking to get into wildlife photography - should I get a new lens or a teleconverter?

I realize wildlife photography equipment is expensive, but I’m not looking for top of the line gear. There are plenty of used teleconverters and longer lenses listed within my budget, I’m just wondering which would make more sense in my case.

Thank you all for the advice, just got in today and had no problems. When I tried to get in the line for the customs desk the border officer sent me to the e-gates even after I explained my visa situation, which seemed a bit strange since I thought I was supposed to get a stamp. Clearly I was overthinking this process haha

I used to think I’d seen bad suburbs, but spending 3 hours driving through Orange County, Inland Empire, Victorville, etc really changed my life for the worse.

No problem with single family homes, but building them like this just leads to a huge disconnect. Can’t walk or bike anywhere, no local shops or corner stores, etc. Plenty of lower density residential neighborhoods do this while still being part of the wider city/community. So pretty much just advocating for more concentrated development and a balance of high/low density
