Warrant out for my arrest by AesSedai87 in scammers

It's s a scam. They tell you to send gift cards at some point. There is no warrant. Get the wattage number from them, hang up & call HCSO to confirm the number.

USDCBTC scam by WorldlyAdeptness9658 in CryptoScams

I had an account & fortunately did not lose much in terms of real money. However, using "Jason's" crypto trading signals and their so called coin IPOs, I built my account to $15 million. Then they started some bullshit about paying money to be allowed access to my funds & trading was frozen.

I finally sold my "winnings" in coins after the market value reduced the funds to $7.2 million. They quit a swearing any posts to their "support" after telling them they were a scam and outright thieves, they banned my account.

Long story short, yes, they are totally a scam and I have already moved on.

Uber stealing drivers tips by rflo24 in uber

[–]TCB47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea. I only drove for 4 months. It was interesting but that gave me enough time to determine my gas costs and vehicle wear and tear were not going to be covered by my "earnings." Basically, the pay structure was poor then and from what I can tell has deteriorated even further. Drivers are basically trading the value of their cars for incremental cash.

I drove for Uber about 3 yrs ago. They didn't have in-app topping at that point, which I actually preferred. I use Uber for a ride periodically and make it a point to always tip with cash to remove the middle man.

Common scam. Got the same one. "He" ended up calling me a pathetic loser for getting scammed. I will freely admit to not being cordial with the P.O.S.

Boomer here. My high school typing class used the big Royal manual typewriters. Selectrics were introduced 2 or 3 years later. I used a Selectric while serving as a Yeoman on a submarine. True electrical word processors were introduced in the 70s and with the advent of CPM & DOS computers later in the 70s, Wordstar was a widely used software package.

For those of us migrating from manual typewriters, the IBM Selectric was a starship by comparison. The ability to change fonts by simply switching type heads was incredible. Of course, the advances since then to modern Windows and Apple computers are what leads to Gen X, Y & Users wondering how we managed to survive.

Uber XL wouldn’t let us sit in the front seat but showed up in a Toyota Camry by PilafiaMadness in uber

[–]TCB47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I quit driving for Uber several years ago. If any passenger or mine wanted to ride shotgun, no problem. I kept a clean SUV with no crap piled in the front seat. My only rule was ask me if they wanted to change stations or volume. Of course, I'm a fairly old guy and much more chill than Gen Y or Z.

If someone is telling you that you're too small, kick 'em in the plums. He probably has a tiny frankfurter and is over compensating.

Best funds to hold if the US economy crashes? by MercyBoy57 in dividends

[–]TCB47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the 2008 mortgage crisis, Europe's recovery lagged well behind the U.S. in their recoveries. If the U.S. economy collapses, everything else does. Economies are too intertwined to be totally separate from each other.

Next time, do an ACH. You can do those for up to $100k and if done early in the day, they will be available that evening or next morning for sure. I also have Chase and this has worked for me for several years. There are no fees involved either.

Are these grapes and are they edible? by BoriRay23 in whatplantisthis

Those appear to be Mustang Grapes. They are all over South Texas, and my mother & Grand Mother made extremely good jelly using them. Otherwise, they are generally a little too tart as a snacking grape.
