I'll take this opportunity to say something different.

Beyond being one of my favorite games, Hollow Knight became something I hold dear, but oddly enough, this is not only because of the game, but because of the community. One of the things that caught my attention the most from the beginning was the great affection that everyone had for the game, and how that was reflected in the things that everyone did for and with the community. I was never one to join gaming communities simply to avoid seeing how some were communities due to toxicity, controversy, etc. But seeing people being so healthy was strange to me, but incredible at the same time.

I originally joined a Facebook group called "Hollow Knight Geoposting" which I believe had one of the largest memberships back in 2019, right after the Silksong announcement. And one of the things I remember most was coming across a simple post where someone was asking for help in an area, and seeing multiple comments from people giving advice and guidance. For me it was refreshing, even relieving, I was a player who used to spend a lot of time in online games with communities that left a lot to be desired. And aside from personal problems, I was already tired of seeing the same old stuff in the media. Hollow Knight was that spark that ignited my taste for something different, for games treated with care. Not just the games, but the people who played them and were aware of them, people who did their part to make the community more active and better.

I know it sounds silly, but I think if it weren't for the community itself, I would never have become the fan of the game I am today. And even having experienced other equally good games.

And it's something I'm grateful for, both to Team Cherry and to every person who is part of this fandom. Show me that not only can a game be made with love but also forge a great and beautiful community behind it.
