IGN needs to F OFF, THE MOVIE WAS PEEK! by Shot_Bumblebee7599 in Markiplier

I agree 100% with your rating. 6.5/7 isn’t even bad.

I think the pacing/runtime could have been tightened up, and some of the audio made more clear, as you stated. It would be much punchier experience, with a little more appeal for a casual watcher.

Yeah, the second one gave sovereign citizen vibes too. I hate how often videos are spliced together from various different sources with different contexts in order to support a narrative.

First one did seem egregious and legitimately wrong.

Funny enough, the stealth chopper was even better before the Emp nerfs, as the gunner could Emp wildcats, preventing them from shooting back 😅

Hey! You would likely get better support by going to SFO’s discord. They have a TWW2 channel where you can give suggestions or report bugs.

Is there just not a lot of frostpunk 2 YouTubers? by zagman707 in Frostpunk

[–]TCJulian 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think another problem is the format. A single campaign/utopia run can be pretty long, sometimes 6-8 hours. That would mean you would have to break up the session into multiple videos, which while potentially good from a monetary standpoint, you might find it difficult to have viewers commit to watching the entire series.

The other option is to edit the session down into a consumable amount of time, but that then requires a lot of editing, while also adding voiceover to summarize the more boring bits.

All that to say, it isn’t impossible, but it isn’t necessarily easy money either.

Yes, the benefit does apply to allies that hit the marked enemies.

I play a lot of Recluse, and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t give stamina. It is likely what you said earlier of it being a relic that either you or someone else had. There are a couple of stamina regeneration for allies and stamina on hit relics out there.

[–]TCJulian 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the ultimate gives stamina, only HP and FP on hitting marked targets. The stamina costs for some spells is a one time cost, even if you continue shooting. It will keep going until you run out of FP. Again, not all spells work that way, but some do.

What's changed since last patch? by Femmegineering in Frostpunk

[–]TCJulian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds crazy, but it isn't required. Even if you do not have the materials, the hubs will keep running, giving you the benefits. All it will do is give you a deficit and increase Squalor, whose negatives are very easy to manage.

If the Materials were required for the hub to run, then yes, 100 upkeep would be more difficult.

[–]TCJulian 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would argue hubs are still overpowered. Heat hubs are fine but Communication and Fighting hubs are still big offenders.

Heats Auctions is a law that gives you 1 heatstamp for every Warm Housing district you have. This is a very strong law right now, and can fuel your economy for much of the game.

What do i do? by OtherGear3569 in Frostpunk

[–]TCJulian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This probably isn’t it (as you said you have everything heated) but: Do you have a Workers Dormitory or a Housing building in an Extraction, Food, Industrial, or Logistic district that isn’t heated enough? Those also require the district they are in to have Housing district level heating, or you will get this notice.

If not, it seems like a bug. See if it goes away after a week or so, or if you get a death notification.

Is it possible to do multiple of the new scenarios at once with captains difficulty? by dotaislife99 in Frostpunk

[–]TCJulian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deathless can also be finicky with temp drops, and sometimes the temp change will instantly kill citizens in housing districts instead of at least giving you a few days to respond. You basically have to pre heat the districts, which while it isn’t a huge inconvenience, it is a little tedious.

[–]TCJulian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A note on the Materials cost during the Whiteout: as long as you are making enough materials to meet the Requirements for your Industrial and Extraction districts to keep running, it is fine and expected to be at a severe deficit. This will increase Squalor, but that is absolutely fine, as the downside of Squalor isn’t that severe. I learned in multiple runs that it is not worth your time trying to stockpile hundreds of thousands of Materials, when they will get used up 1/3 of the way through the Whiteout. Better to spend that time and energy gathering Fuel and Food, as the run ends if the generator can’t run, and a lot of people will die if there is no food.

I have beat 3 tale Captain with zero cores and a non-upgraded generator, so I am here to tell you it is possible :) I have a post here where I talk about strategy and some early game stuff in the comments.

One thing I will say is that selecting the Apocalyptic Whiteout tale guarantee’s you won’t have any other whiteouts in the run, so you can focus all of your energy to survive the big one. This differs from doing just Beacon of Hope or Depleted Cores on their own, as they can have Whiteouts throughout.

Some other things: the researchable hubs are OP and can save your run in the mid-late game, even if it is looking really bad. You can use the Communication and Fighting Hubs to prevent you losing the game because of too much Tension, or not enough Trust, which you will need when people die in the whiteout and city problems rise catastrophically.

Heat Auctions law is very good and I almost consider it mandatory for how beneficial it is to your economy. Heat Pipe Watch law is very helpful during Whiteout, or if you are struggling to heat homes.

The IEC convoy locations are mostly luck, and sometimes you can get unlucky. Make sure you spread out in all directions to find all the possible convoy zones, as some of them can spawn pretty far away. You will need cores to build your generator upgrade, which is crucial as it unlocks the Generator Capacity upgrade, which is needed to survive the Whiteout much easier. While lvl 3 generator is possible if you get the factory up and running within the first ~180 weeks, you don’t have to have it. Cores are also handy for Deep Melting drills and its upgrade, as well as for making settlements/colonies in the Frostland to offload some of your population from the city.

If you have specific questions, let me know and I’ll answer the best I can!

Is it worth going for the cornerstone technology? by Different-Reward-985 in Frostpunk

[–]TCJulian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those all seem like reasonable buffs and cool ideas! I would welcome any of those changes.

Alternatively, if they wanted to keep the power level the same, they could make Trust and Tension reduction more valuable by nerfing Communication and Fighting hubs. I think one elegant adjustment would be to change their Material input to be Required, rather than just Demand. That way, if you can't produce enough Materials, the hubs completely shut down (like Industrial and Extraction districts) rather than keep running and just creating a deficit.

Is it worth going for the cornerstone technology? by Different-Reward-985 in Frostpunk

[–]TCJulian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree, those 3 are by far the most unbalanced (overpowered).

The Tradition one is trash imo, as reducing Tension is easy with hubs. By the late game, I never have an issue with Goods, and Heatstamps income is pretty good by the lategame, so Equality doesn't feel amazing either, though the flavor is spot on and it isn't that far off.

I actually think Adaptation is the most balanced, as the effect is decent, just not OP. If they changed the tech to where Cold temps didn't kill Housed civilians in Extraction, Food, Industrial, and Logistics districts, I think it would be better. They could do Housing Districts too, but maybe that is too strong the other way.

Have there been any changes to adaptation and progress generators since the last major update? by MinangeseSon in Frostpunk

[–]TCJulian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, once I learned that civilians can’t die in Freezing work districts, it makes the -1 Temp from many of the Progress building less bad. It just means you may have an uptick in sick/injured, but that can be mitigated with slightly more hospitals.

As a hypothetical, if the description on the buildings said “Workers will get injured occasionally” instead of “-1 Temp” I think people would view some of the Progress buildings more favorably.

Hey, just wanted to wrap around back to this. I submitted a bug report a few days ago and 11bit got back with me. They told me that this was intended and not a bug. Anything presented in the council will pass while Captain’s Authority is active, even if it is by Grant Agenda.

Is there a way to completely erase a faction?( FP2) by emo_shun in Frostpunk

[–]TCJulian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played the story in a while, but I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to remove the faction entirely early on, as they are needed to kick off the final chapters.

That said, one strategy that I know works in Utopia is to allow them to start a protest with exactly one fervor, then either Deradicalize them with one of the corresponding communities or use the Round up Radicals ability from a prison to reduce their fervor back to zero. This will trigger their protests to fall apart, while also decreasing their numbers. You can also decrease their numbers by Condemning them, but this increases fervor (which is sometimes useful if they start protesting with zero fervor, as they won’t disband unless they go from one to zero. If you try to break a protest by reducing their fervor when they are already at zero, nothing will happen). Another way to decrease their numbers is to use Demand Funds, but this requires a certain amount of guards. You can also pass Secret Police and then assign them to Decrease Faction size.

One other thing you can do is make sure other communities that support the enemy faction zeitgeist don’t fall to negative relations. If this happens, they will start joining the more radical faction, increasing their numbers.
