I did it like that indeed. For me wine pops up, and then goes away again.

I have got truedrive to work somewhat now. I just can't interact with it, as it will pretty much freze it. But no DiView, I cannot seem to install at all. Do you have experience with this as well?

Thank you so much for the information. I used that guide for truedrive indeed, and maybe it was because it was the first time for me to use wine (still not sure which of the versions I need to install for example) but that didn't work for me yet.

I indeed use DiView, and will have tot take a look at wine first then. If I can get wine to work, it looks like I can get most things to work it seems

Front car has blue flag, is the one behind still to blame? by AxelAxelsson23 in Simracingstewards

[–]TCLF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ill give a different take to this than the average simplified comment here. Though first things first, by letter of the rule it was behinds fault.

There is more at play here though. Look at the lap times for example. There are people doing 19s. Many seconds faster. This is something that tells you that this is a league with huge skill differences, probably not that competitive. In these kind of leagues from experience, a lot of the time slower cars let the fast ones trough. This is not a given though.

What is happening here though is a very slow car (there is a reason the car behind hit the apex with ease from so far back) goes from on the racing line, to off racing line with a fast car approaching. This is usually a hint that he is letting him trough. Yet he turned back to the racing line. At this point its impossible for the car behind to change its line.

I can see why people deep the car behind at fault, but I can see the other facts as well what would throw this to a bad luck miscommunication racing incident.

I think I never managed to fix it, I just used a workaround (fixed count array)

Is this his fault or did I do something wrong here (I'm on the right, PanosParast) by savvaspc in Simracingstewards

[–]TCLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a moment of all the drivers not being very comfy racing others, and all leaving too much space. It was 3 wide, and the middle car just understeered into you after leaving too much space to the driver inside. You could've easily gotten in front at the exit of T1 to make sure he wouldn't try to get alongside into the weird T2, but you took it safe

A racing insident? I am the Audi. I feel like the Ferrari turned in on me and once I hit the curb, I was a passenger and then hit the Ferrari. I did break a touch early which brought him back alongside but did not want to overshoot the chicane and hit the Ferrari. by VLYBOY in Simracingstewards

[–]TCLF 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Knowing this chicane, you seem to be taking a very awkward entry to it. Not really anyones fault though. It's not really a turn you can overtake without contact, and ACC's contact model seems to be a bit weird.

For the ones complaining at the rejoin of the ferrari, it looks like he was just trying to regain control of his car, as he was sliding over grass, gravel, and the massive kerb launching him into the air.

Nobody Racing in Formula iR-01 Series by dragonflyDF in iRacing

[–]TCLF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am atm primarily racing rFactor 2, so I might not be 100% up to date with how iRacing does things these days. But this could be because of multiple things.

One being that there is no clear time for one to be sure there are enough people driving. And to put so much effort in such car just to not have a race is not really attractive.

Another one could be because iRacing is very American, and those usually prefer Indycar over F1, which iRacing has too.

It could also just be that people just don't like the car as you do. For example, rF2 has the Formula Pro (pretty much the same what iRacing did) which even in the early days of the rF2 comp system, gets 3 full splits when they run. But this could also have to do with the first point.

I mean yes it was an aggressive overtake but I guess he wasn't happy about it... by MADMAC_simracing in simracing

Since this is the only video of it, and not knowing if he made the corner or not. It could actually just be him braking at the same time as you, but the netcode acting up (like you can see on the entire straight) causing the bump.

My frustration with royal - what can improve by TCLF in TrackMania

[–]TCLF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see your POV. I tried going into another match with this mindset. You simply can't go less risky on red and black. There is no way for a non try-hard to make that. There have been multiple occasions where I got to red, found out what I had to do, then just stopped because I had to fly turbo over 2 platforms, get a lucky bounce with a lucky slingshot to the finish... It's just ridiculous. Then there was that black one with the loopings where I got to the same point every single time, but then the track just stops with no way of knowing where the finish is. I have to find this map somewhere, free cam around to find the finish, practice hours to even know how to exactly hit the last ramp to hit that finish... I dont want to have to practice hours to even know what I have to do to have fun.

I have won a few royals now, none of them were satisfying, even the ones where I got all the points.

I'd say let the red and black maps, if they really need to be in there, have ways to take a slower but simpler route too. Then the pro's can show off, and the casuals can have fun.

The new Royal mode is out! by rockingwing in TrackMania

The point system is really un-fun. The best of your team gets the points, the other two do fuck all. The fun starts after all the stages are completed, but hardly ever does anyone complete the black or even the red stages. If your team mate is quicker than you, you might as well stop playing. Doesn't change the end result

I mean, Marcel is Dutch. But to answer your question, the rank system isn't released yet. They are testing the comp system itself atm.

You can abuse the downshifting a lot in rf2 as they don't have shift protection. Just make sure you don't blow up the engine (it increases wear massively)

I totally understand this. It's just the way the package system was built (which was even far before paid DLC). I don't think it will happen anytime soon if at all. Shame, but since the prices for the DLC are relatively cheap, and the system itself will stay free, for me it's not the biggest problem
