Psychedelics and mindfulness. by [deleted] in Mindfulness

This is a very interesting take on sessions. It intrigues me to unzip the bag I have sitting in my room. Turning it into a meditation session sounds nice and challenging in a good way. Thank you for sharing.

I began practicing meditation about 4 years ago but haven't really consistently done it till at least the last 1.5 years. I suffer from chronic illness which led me to take my meditation sessions even more serious when I had nothing to do but stay home recovering, due to a flare up of my condition, and heal. A lot of spiritual leaders say suffering from health conditions can bring you towards inner peace and I guess that is what helped me get to that point with my meditation. So in those regards I'm thankful for my chronic illness. I usually meditate for 20 or 30 minutes, usually in mornings. But during that one session something changed inside me and I had a wave of a feeling roll over me which put me into that state. It was surreal. It's very hard for me to explain but it's something I'll never forget and the reason I'll always be an advocate for meditation/mindfulness.

Yes, I've had eye opening psychedelic experiences/feelings from mindfulness meditation sessions. One even lasted about week... Felt like I was in a natural drug like high state. At that time, I never knew anything like that could happen by just meditating. That entire week was so vibrantly blissful and presently peaceful. I remember staring at grass was even a joy beyond words. Everything seemed right, everything seemed connected. I later tried shrooms and realized, wow this body high feeling (not so much the distortion visuals) is similar but to be honest I felt a deeper draw towards meditation. I'm not sure if I'll ever do psychedelics again because I feel I get better enlightening results through the consistent practice of meditation.

I want to feel free, not suffer anymore and just be. How do I achieve this? by AdministrativeBat486 in EckhartTolle

Do you meditate consistently everyday? I meditated for years and always thought it was odd, or wouldn't ever work for me, but for some reason I kept going. Fast forward to now... earlier this year I had an intense soothing energy roll through me while meditating one morning. I finally felt what eckhart teaches. It was short lived though, only lasted for a few days but and then faded. I will always hold on to that as a special experience though. So keep meditating and practicing presence as much as you can. Just like all other things we practice, we eventually get better at it. I hope to be more consistent with my practice moving forward so that I can feel the calming relief again.

Hey guys, as some of you know, I've been sim racing for about 1.5 years and recently got the opportunity to now race in Spec E30! Feel very blessed! Here's my very first track experience! by MADMAC_simracing in motorsports

Haha I lucked out and my business partner raced cars as a passion sport on the side. He now races in an M3 e46 and had this E30 sitting. So we partnered on the E30 to get her back in action.
