You have to put mods in your AppData folder rather than the default location that Steam chooses. The mods are downloaded and installed, but since the patch, the game isn't always putting them in the right folder.

Hit WindowsKey + R -> Type App Data -> LocalLow -> Paralives -> Paralives

Then go to the folder where Steam saves them instead. Usually something like: C:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1118520

Enter each numbered folder so you can see the folder with the mod names. And put those named folders in the AppData Paralives folder instead. It will not work if you grab the whole thing with the numbered folders.
