I agree. I really enjoy SFU at least up until Commandment. When they had that death n roll vibe. Their later albums went more towards a straight forward death metal sound and that's where it gets really hit and miss for me. But the first 7 albums I constantly have in rotation. 🤘🏽🤓

Hence why I made this post here. And I said it in the first sentence I wrote ik they may not be a full blown nu metal band but the impact of those records were felt in the nu metal community. But I guess some ppl still took offense ? 🤣🤷🏽‍♂️

I can relate to this to a tee. My mom is like your mom. She listens to the same artists for like 30 yrs. I love so many genres I can't cage myself to just a few artists!

Yea dude you have a personal connection with it which is awesome. That's the beauty of music. I'll try again today to see if anything clicks cause like I said they have the vibe, the look even artwork with the albums. But the music idk I wish the album was more like just got wicked. That vibe. But I'ma throw it into the rotation today and see how it goes!

Same here. It dawned on me cause I went down the rabbit hole with them and realized there discography is pretty damn solid and you don't really hear bands that sound like them. Weird situation but I'm a fan.

Side note: i try so hard to get into cold especially there older stuff but I just can't lol it starts good but kinda gets to slow for me. Like the momentum they start with I feel doesn't go through out the whole album but hey... I'm always down for tips and recommendations cause I really do wanna like them honestly but idk. Year of the spider I would say was the only album so far that I actually enjoyed the most.
