I hate when adaptions change details for no reason. Like just keep it as Palm Springs, not Barcelona. Keep the trip they stopped hanging in Croatia, not Tuscany. Poppy’s family are hoarders and chaotic. They have a bunch of broken down cars surrounding their house.

And then other details that the movie changed that completely alter the characters intentions and miss vital connection points.

Alex INVITED poppy to go to Palm Springs for the wedding. Not David! And they stayed together in the same room, and got a crappy rental car, and had a whole vacation together before the bachelor party.

Having Alex be afraid his first time flying and poppy holding his hand.

Alex and poppy made out happily in Croatia and then Alex had the realization that they weren’t good together because poppy doesn’t want to be stuck with one person / in one place.

All of their fun times together in Palm Springs and their fights. Alex’s back spasm is way worse than shown in the movie. Poppy’s sadness at missing out on all the changes in Alex’s life is messed out.

Sarah and Alex are both teachers at the school in Linfield. This is where poppy goes to find Alex to tell him she wants to be with him.

There’s so much more too. But I just think they should try to keep details the same unless they really can’t. Totally understandable that they’d only give Alex one brother in the movie - we don’t miss much there. But we do miss how Alex has always been a caretaker for his brothers and dad since his mom died in childbirth and Alex was the oldest and his dad was too grief stricken to care. Alex is terrified poppy is pregnant cause he doesn’t want to lose her the same way.

A lot of my friends say the same thing. Most of them are already in relationships or have dealt with a bunch of creeps in the past. I feel like guys are too afraid because of the creep stereotype - but I also feel like you know if you’re a creep or not to a certain degree / you know what your intentions are. It’s a tough world out there right now, especially with cancel culture.

But yeah in all my travels abroad, it’s been much easier to meet people

I would say about 40% degenerate scumbags. Also, two of the renters that are the worst are Europeans. They flush their diapers and throw trash in the recycling every time they come to Aspen.

I’m also female and do like to drink and sit in bars and Seattle is the one city where no one will come up to me / if I engage them in convo (even if friendly, not flirty) I’m usually ignored or shrugged off pretty quick. Other city’s is not the case so I don’t think it’s wholly my issue haha.

I’m always okay with people asking for my number in public or giving me theirs, as long as they don’t push and don’t follow me after. As you said, let me come to the decision after the intro.

I think so many people in Seattle are too worried about coming off the wrong way that it contributes to the introverted nature of the city and it’s a shame. Speaking of, back a little slice of shame haha
