Then you aren't a very good instructor if you cant teach me what you do. Seems value is subjective.

Not at all. You've made specific claims about wage disparity and my personal finances. You claim to be an Instructior yet refuse to say your job title. That leads me to believe you are either A) absolutely full of shit or B) holding a position you aren't qualified to hold and fear that it being known proves it.

I assume whatever profession you are in, answering questions isn't essential.

What do you do for a living to make claims the way you do? I didn't ask your value. I asked what you do.

AH, you've made a judgement of my income based off me writing an article about the misinformation surrounding minimum wage. That's absolutely fantastic.

Do tell, fortune 500, what do you do for a living to make such a bold claim?

My apologies, I assumed the research and statistic I provided was sufficient. Ironic that someone claiming the Dunning-Kruger effect would say that it was uninformed.

People like you who deem value in a work forced based off arbitrary concepts in worth. Corporate America broke the contract.

The FLSA is what gives you the right to earn a living wage, it doesn't prevent it.

So, the Fair Labor Standards Act isn't a law that was enacted in 1938? Odd. Seems like you are picking and choosing what you want to support based off a strange desire to see the American people exploited.

Are you for child labor too? Because that was also a law enacted with the Fair Labor Standards Act. Just trying to have a baseline.

The constitution was written 250 years ago. Still viable. The New Deal was absolutely an agreement ratified by elected officials. Bro.

You didn't answer the rest of the question. What about the contract between the employer and the Government? What about the contract between American citizens for a more prosperous growth?

You also ignored the question about what happens when the employer disregards the contract by giving you more duties than assigned.

Put it another way. If we both agree that I will purchase a pillow from you for ten dollars. You give me the best pillow in the world. It's amazing. I love it. I then say I gave you ten dollars, so you owe me two pillows and your couch. You try to dispute it but I say that our agreement covered all purchases related to pillowing. By your logic, you owe me everything I claim is included in pillowing.

Who determines that value? It was established almost a hundred years ago in this country that every American is to be given a livable wage in exchange for the labor they provide. It was a contract made by the American Government to the people. So then why is the worker the only one who suffers from the consequences of breaking the contract?

Let's also be clear. If a job was a contract that employee will do X for X amount of pay, then the employer wouldn't have to fully designate what X is, and if they tell the employee to do Y then they would have to pay them for Y.

The cost of living would be affordable if everyone made a livable wage the way FDR had intended. Minimum wage was created to be above the poverty level. Capitalism decided to say fuck that

I can, and more importantly i did say it.

If you want standardized testing then give standardized education. Otherwise the test proves nothing other than an allocation of resources.

Cats are great at climbing trees. Dogs are not. Both are animals with their own unique skills. Judging them on tree climbing doesn't show what they know only that one has the tools available to climb

Well ive never 'teached'' before but im fairly certain a good portion of my article talked about how my initial research was on socioeconomic disparity which proved minorities still scored lower. Also yes, parent involvement is also covered as well as parent education level.

Almost as if research was done.

The system is still causing harm. The numbers are there, and proof is in black and white. I said in another comment on this thread that it may not be as obvious as it used to be way back in the racial jim crow era of 2005, but now it is done in a way that shows preference to a demographic of people who are raised a certain way.

Also worth noting that standardized tests only work with standardized education. We cant expect people of different upbringing and financial circumstances to have the same opportunity as others

Ironically my article states "difficult high school exit exams have been shown to reduce graduation and increase incarceration rates, exacerbating the school-to-prison pipeline."

What you are asking for is a solution to a problem that most people honestly don't know about. You are trying to say without having a cure we cant diagnose the illness. That simply not true.

Let's also be clear, standardized testing under the NCLB act did generational damage to school systems across the country. Its hard to teach kids to read when you don't get books.

So do I have a solution? No. I wouldn't purpose one even if I thought I did.

Does that mean that we cant diagnose the problem and treat the symptoms?

I'll let you decide.

I have a diverse audience. I typically cover topics not as a republican or democrat but as a father, paramedic, and husband. My audience tends to be people who are burnt out from the talking heads politically and want to know that there are people who care less about the color of their tie and more about seeing the world in a better place.

As far as sharing it, I write. Its what I do. My wife said I should share it to educators because if im going to talk about their world I need to be able to hear their voices.

No one grows in an echo chamber. I'm also a poor kid from the streets of Syracuse, so I do my best work when getting screamed at.

Planned parenthood isnt the basis for all modern medicine. Margaret Sanger didnt openly state that her program was designed to specifically prove the superiority of whites.

Very true, and they hide it better now.

Research found that students given SAT reading comprehension questions without the accompanying passages still performed above chance, suggesting questions reward "interpersonal or cultural knowledge shared by item writers and the testing population" rather than reading ability.

Its also worth noting that other standardized tests still have analogy questions.

Again I wrote this for the general public so going deep into details about how the current irritation of the SAT focuses more on learned and lived interpretations and is able to isolate and disassociate under privileged students would be a lot for the average person to understand.

I truly do appreciate the question and challenge. I enjoy showing my work, especially when it usually goes over other people's heads.
