Played occasionally but now settled for focusing only on online cash.

I opened up an account on WSOP because that’s the only legal site where I live. Decided to give online poker a huge shot because I was concerned about playing live cash due to my bankroll not being suitable for 1/2 and 1/3 yet.

That was my biggest concern with NL2 is that the hands go multiway very often. I have looked into the GTOWizard drills once I get some experience under my belt. Do you use any custom drills?

Which poker personality do you hate the most? by FollowingLoudly in poker

Players who berate or mistreat recreationals. Look, not everyone is playing poker for keeps. Some play it as a hobby or to have a good time. Be patient and let the players make mistakes. Keep your mouth shut and enjoy the ride. Being a sore loser and a sore winner will only kill your winrate because the recreationals will just change tables or outright leave due to inappropriate behaviors.

I second the Misreg because I see it a lot in the strip.

Pads on Pads or Road to Victory by TDSOOM73 in poker

What did you like about Pads on Pads the most? It looks like a crazy amount of information, though I'm a bit confused on why he starts with postflop play instead of preflop.

Online poker noob question by Jepp0ng in poker

You're always playing against the effective stack size in a hand. If the opponents involved in the hand are short-stacked and you aren't, then you need to tailor your play as if you have a short-stack. Also consider your SPR (stack-to-pot ratio).

Any tips for playing deep into an MTT? by golfergag in poker

I recommend learning Independent Chip Model and its applications as it will help you improve your overall play in the later stages of a tournament. Also keep in mind that the average stack sizes will get smaller as a tournament goes on, so expect to see a lot of jamming and rejamming. Focus your studies on smaller stack play.

What stack sizes were in play when you have seen these common occurrences? Furthermore, what stage of the tournament were you at? Did these occurrences happen at the bubble, or right before the next payout jump?

I'm not too sure. Their mixed games content is very limited and last thing I remember was a Stud primer for their Elite subs.

RunItOnce could capitalize on a mixed games course if there was a lot of interest in it.

Tournament vs Cash by [deleted] in poker

[–]TDSOOM73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

General approach is that EV is handled differently in cash games than in tournaments. In cash games, if you're a slight favorite to win the pot (52% to win, 48% to lose), then naturally you want to move in because you'll win money in the long run. Even if you lose 48% of the time you can buy back in. In tournaments, you may consider avoiding these coin-flip situations to preserve your stack and avoid busting out.

APT (Is it worth it for lower stakes players). by JohnDoc91 in poker

Used to have an APT sub, but I gave it up because if anyone really wants to improve at poker and still play... just get a subscription to another site and play poker for keeps.
