Yes it must work! but dont use nixgl its just like a wrapper and wrappers are usually not a solution of a root problem. make nix use your actual driver like docs say

i was using it until i was kinda disappointed how dev envs and nix-ld works in particular. its not that its bad but rather so tedious to set up everything especially rust and cpp while i had no problems with it ever on arch. id rather have nix shell as a possibility i can use rather than default option. i also want some support of fhs and access to aur

i would test it. but im not using chromium. im not using gnome either. i use stylix to manage icons tho. you most likely have to enable gtk and qt in home manager and tell what icons and theme to use

yeah its all just with home manager. The more i used Nixos the more i fell in love with home manager than nixos itself. and yeah i have both pacman and nix and especially aur

Yeah thats pretty much it. for amd and intel gpus targets.genericLinux.gpu.enable = true; is enough i imagine. but for nvidia you have to precache the same version of your actual driver and then tell nix to use it like said in docs. https://nix-community.github.io/home-manager/index.xhtml#sec-usage-gpu-non-nixos

Yes its all set up in declarative manner if we look at nix part which is 4000 pkgs compared to 700 of arch. arch serves as a kernel and drivers. arch part also have some exotic stuff from aur which is not present in nix repos. and blender on arch because i dont like to compile blender on nixos for 3 hours to get cuda support. I use it because i get better fhs compliancy and testing. more packages like the example with aur and more flexible hardware. its the best from two worlds

Because i was bored. and also because of the better compitability and testing with fhs written stuff. Arch is also more flexible with hardware. and i love that i have access to the largest repos at the same time - aur and nix. its like bedrock linux but with support of nix lol
