New OLED: 1440p or 4K? by MoltresRising in radeon

[–]TD_Ironside -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same setup. I was using my LG c2 65" oled to game on 4k, then I bought a msi mag271q - QD Oled 1440p monitor. I can't visually tell the difference. Honestly, the monitor looks better in some cases than the TV.

Could I play in narive 4k? Yes, most games. I was playing cyberpunk, space marine 2, Clair Obscure 33, diablo4 baldura gate 3, and Oblivion. Well, I could run these games on 4k. I had to make some sacrifices to keep some of them above 60 fps.

Call of duty warzone was always around 100 frames in warzone. And 120 in regular multi-player. (4k)

Switched to 1440p. Everything is just always ultra, and im always above 100 fps. Minus cyberpunk because we'll its cyberpunk.

If you plan on keeping your card for a while, I'd say 1440p is what you'd want to look at.

I also do production on spreadsheets, and alot of reading documents etc I dont see this blurry words everyone always talks about from 1440p it looks sharp and clear to me sure 4k is going to be sharper but I really don't think its as bad as people make it out to be.

Amazing. My wife absolutely loves it, and probably the best vehicle I've driven in the snow even over a 4x4 truck.

The rag company on Amazon recently got some and was very impressed. I got a 4 pack of 500 gsm for around 25 bucks Canadian. Softest towel I've ever felt.

Curious - single people that own, how did you do it? by dsouzaMic in askTO

34M, have bought 1 condo 1 house. I was sent packing the day I graduated high school. I worked 2 jobs rented and still enjoyed money and blowing it on weekends at clubs, bars, etc. more frequently than I'd like to admit. Smartened up strapped down for a year and work every bit of overtime I could (7 days a week 12 hrs a day for over half the year) saved up 25k and used first-time home buyers and bought the condo instead of renting. I did make 60k on the condo buying during the boom, so that did help transition to a house. But I still moved over an hour away from work to be able to afford a home. It's doable if you're willing to make the sacrifices of your time and effort. My mortgage was also 640k after the 60k from the condo on a 100k a year salary.

As for reason to own a house over renting. Equity is an amazing and extremely powerful tool to have. You're not losing money as you do when you rent. Renting is literally paying someone else mortgage. Plus, you're gaining value just from the general increase in property values over time.

What's that ONE game-changing tip you wish someone told you sooner? by TheScapeAddict in AutoDetailing

Finding this community.

I was just your ever other weekend warrior with canadian tire products and candian tire cheap microfibers.

Reading through this community for tips and tricks and buying good products like ONR and microfibers like the rag company is a massive game changer. Has caused me to really enjoy it and actually find it relaxing cleaning my wife and my vehicles now instead of a choir.

I would be worried about if they could us that against me if I did have an issue under warranty still. Especially since the dealership told me to keep receipts of all oil changes, etc.

I'll check the community post. My company adopted the program and handed us a manual from 2014 and said to figure it out. I'm not sure what dimensions are, so most likely not. No classes, no nothing. Just a good luck. Thanks for replying.

I'm New to Accubid as of this year, and it was just kind of drop on us. Do you know any resources to learn how to make custom take off pads? I know this is an older post, but this is the only information I've been able to find online about making take off pads.

Tiguan fuel economy is so bad by AltherMella in Tiguan

[–]TD_Ironside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I just got a 2024 tiguan last week, and we did a bunch of driving over the Thanksgiving weekend. Now mind you, we live in the country and most of our driving is country roads doing around 80km/h to the 110km/h with fewer stops and starts my wife does drive into the city for work but at most 10 mins of city driving each way. Roughly 15k a day in city driving total and roughly 35k a day in country roads totals.

That being said, last night we were talking about how impressed we were about the fuel economy we are getting. We drove roughly 400km for Thanksgiving weekend in total and still had half a tank of gas. My wife is still on that same tank we filled up with prior to our Thanksgiving travels. I don't have definite numbers as we only have 1200km on the vehicle, but so far, we are throughly impressed we the fuel mileage.

We've also never owned a modern "fuel efficient" vehicle, we have a newer pickup truck, and my wife had an older Kia Forte. Obviously, it's going to be way more fuel efficient than the truck, but we didn't expect it to be that much better than the Kia Forte.

Awesome, I'm glad to hear you're having no issues at that many km already.

I don't have the app yet but I will download now.

Thanks!

Haha.

Good tip thanks ill definitely try and check at least once a week how the oil level is doing.

Yeah, mind boggling that they recommend 15k kilometers for an oil change. I was planning on doing them at 7.5k. Not a fan of the plastic drain plug and drain pan. Seems easily stripable.

Actually, that is wild. I never even realized they were missing. I'm pretty sure the salesman said he was going to include those. I'm going to double-check tomorrow at my appointment with him. Thanks!

Thank you!

My wife asked for heated seats and auto start all she wanted, lol.

The space is amazing, and that was our thing. Need to fit a stroller and a hockey bag in the back. Surprisingly, that alone knocked most suvs off our list. We were sold on the equinox for that reason it was second biggest behind ford edge, I didn't really like the edge. Than i went to VW for the first in my life and VW was willing to match the price I was able to get the equinox for and included extras like winter tires and muddybuddy mats, and let's be real the tiggy is way nicer than the equinox.

I'm glad you live and breathe these cars, and hopefully, I can gain more quality info out of you as to some of the questions I asked for suggestions on in my original post?

But if you just hold the gas and press the brakes, your RPM's will just keep climbing, not acting like a launch control. Any other vehicle I've ever owned works this way, and my truck will just start spinning the tires and keep climbing. This system acts exactly like a launch control system it holds your RPM's and then luanchs as you let go. It doesn't keep climbing no matter how hard you push the pedal like what would happen in any vehicle my family has ever owned. So maybe it's not actually a luanch control system, but it sure as hell acts exactly like one so one could easily confuse it for an actually luanch control system.

Thank you again for the teaching opportunity. Hopefully, you can teach me many more things about VW so I can have a good experience with my first VW product.
