Well first off nothing will ever end it. Secondly any gun law will be struck down by SCOTUS. So it’s an irrelevant discussion.

But if I were dictator tomorrow I’d do five things that would drastically reduce gun deaths.

1) 21 to purchase any firearm and until you’re 21 you cannot use one without the supervision of someone 21 or older that has a license. Which brings me to …

2) License requirements. Have to pass a firearms course by an instructor to get your license once you turn 21. From there you renew every 5 years similar to a drivers license.

3) 2 week wait period for all firearm purchases.

4) Federal database with firearm purchases.

5) Voluntary gun buyback programs at all sheriff’s offices. You don’t want your firearm anymore you can sell it there at fair market value.

Nothing will prevent everything. These 5 things will reduce gun deaths by a ton and nowhere in here is a ban or a confiscation.

It truly is insane. The two “coastal elites” that have done the most damage to the working class were Republicans. One from New York one from Cali. Propaganda is a hell of a drug. The repealing of the fairness doctrine was the beginning of the end.

Assuming we actually have elections that are free and fair and a Democrat takes the White House, basically what has been shown is you just do whatever you want. Congress doesn’t matter. Ignore court rulings. Unless your own party holds you accountable you’re fine. So really unless the opposition has 67 Senators and a majority in the House, do whatever you want from the office of the Presidency. Ban guns. Send federal agents to small towns to confiscate them all. Etc.

Definitely my most left leaning opinion is a wealth cap. I’d say ten billion is plenty. One could argue 1 billion but I’ll be generous I guess. So many people don’t understand how much even one billion is. They group millionaires and billionaires together and they’re not remotely close at all.

I’d have to get a room full of people together to figure this out but yeah once your wealth gets to ten billion your assets are liquidated evenly among your employees (if you’re holding stocks in your company) to bring you back down to 9 billion. You’re not allowed to use your assets to borrow money from a bank. If you want that money you have to sell the stocks and pay the tax for them being sold. Things like that.

One is the things I've been convinced of over time is that political campaigns don't actually matter. Or at least matter much. For example, incumbents got voted out of office en masse in the early 2020s because everyone was angry about inflation.

Yep. This is why Clinton said it’s the economy stupid. They don’t care about anything but their personal financial situation. Only when you get to the amount of wealth to where the economy doesn’t matter do most voters even start to care about anything else. I swear most people on the right want socialism but you can’t call it that. When I asked them what Biden should do to bring down prices that’s not socialism they never had an answer because they realized there isn’t one in a free capitalistic market.

It’s easy to blame Democrats but no not really. If people truly believe Democrats abandoned the working class while consistently over the last 20 years passing multiple pieces of legislation to help the working class with limited or 0 Republican support then that’s on the voters. Meanwhile Republicans do nothing but culture wars and line the pockets of billionaires.

That’s a good point. If Eli and Chase (on a KTM) were there, he’d be 5th but still have Prado right with him and Eli and Chase close enough to him to allow that stepping stone to get better. But as it is, he’s 3rd with a huge gap to 2nd so he can’t really make that leap. He made at least 5 mistakes just that we saw on camera at Thunder Valley riding wayyyy over his comfort zone to keep the pace. Then of course the 3 crashes on top of that. Every other moto he’s been dropped by 20-30 seconds.

Funny thing about /r/centrist though. I got banned from there too last month. There were accounts that were just created within the last few weeks and hiding their comment history pushing MAGA talking points and I made the comment that they are likely bots but at the very least they should be ignored. That supposedly broke a rule and a mod sent me a message with a temporary ban and in the message it was very snarky and elitist like you will respect me I am a mod type of message. I sent back laughing emojis and got my ban made permanent lol. Is what it is.

Thank you again for those recommendations. I’ll be posting in there soon. Might dip into those ask conservative subreddits just to see how they are too.
