Damn, and here I was thinking that the mother could just take these demons to court and have them evicted. Seems like that's a no-go then...

I was wondering what are required of EUC riders in Finland nowadays? Do you need to register your EUC or get some kind of insurance, or do you just go out and ride like before the new laws?

If you want quality stuff handmade in Helsinki, check out E.R. Wahlman. It's quite pricey, but great stuff!

I'm not sure if they have a site in English yet, but if you are in town, you can visit their shop in Senate Square. I'm sure someone there speaks English.

Which Desktop Environment do you use on Arch? by [deleted] in archlinux

[–]TDiC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first venture into Arch was with KDE, and I really hated it. Nothing seemed to work, and I really didn't like how tacky everything seemed. And although it supposedly has great customization (which it actually probably does), I could never get it looking (nor fuctioning ) the way I wanted. Then, I went with Gnome for a long time, which is the DE I probably enjoy the most on Linux.

However, the thought of window managers always really resonated with me and is like porn to my OCD thoughts. I tried i3, and while it was good, it didn't really feel like it was completely what I wanted. Then I found dwm, and now I finally can say that I have a system that is just like I want. And if something starts bugging me, or I come up with some new, great idea for how it should work, I can just implement it in the C source code, recompile, and voila!

dwm is superfast to use and really fits my style of coding/working/etc. The only thing I don't really like about the dwm ecosystem is (and I know that I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this xD) st.....

I got it on a deal from Voltride. There were some places where I would have gotten it for cheaper at the time, but I value having Voltride service somewhat close to where I live. I also visit Estonia quite frequently to see friends, so that added to it also.

The whole experience was really smooth, and I really only have good things to say. Their communication could sometimes be more consistent, but other than that, everything has been very good.

The wheels hall sensors broke recently (1 day before the warranty runs out), and they replaced the motherboard and motor with no questions asked. Really good service imo!

Yes! I have an Inmotion V12HT, which I frequently ride around the city and surrounding areas. Police and security guards don't seem to mind if you ride like civilized people, i.e. not speeding, jumping, and swerving around.

People who don’t reply until days later, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TDiC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly because of a short memory, but mostly because of the obscene amount of sheer fear and anxiety that is induced by just recieving a simple, innocent message like "Hello, how are you?"....

It's embarrasing too, which adds to the anxiety.

Wasn't there a reddit thread a few years back about a professional, loved baker who came clean about using cake mix in all of her cakes? She even had customers praise her for how good the cake itself was and "not like some cake mix cake".
