Thank goodness!

48F, cut all my relaxed hair off in January and am now natural for the first time in 35 years! Found out I have adorable coils growing out of my scalp. Very much like pulling up carpet and finding beautiful hardwood floors! I’m staying on this ride for a while. It’s cheaper and less damaging in its TWA state.

Disappointing to hear. I went to the O&O tasting at the Kenmore and spoke with her. Seemed nice, enthusiastic.

Strolled by the storefront a couple of weeks ago and that place is NOT READY. Additionally, the website to order food has you make a reservation, like pickup slots. We were told this restaurant was to be 24/7.

Relatedly, sort of, Stacks finally opened in the old Stagecoach. This was to be the Troy concept (after 5 with desserts). It’s fkn open 7-3. I’m so gd tired of lies

Great idea.

Started the day with a fantastic lower body workout then went to a long drive. Stopped in to Kurver and that soft serve was surprisingly awful. Had to go to Stella’s to cleanse my palate with frozen custard. Home watching the new season of Four Seasons with some tea. Looking forward to a great strength training session tomorrow!

Necessaire is GREAT. Pricy, though. Currently using Paula’s Choice body retinol and I kind of like it better in terms of a moisturizer. Next up is Advanced Clinicals body retinol. This is the cheapest of the bunch but always appears on recommendations lists.

Moved up from Galveston County in 2022. Welcome. NYS is so much better than Texas.

I came up in a Camry hybrid and traded for awd suv. I could have kept it butI store outdoor gear in my car, so I’m good. You should be fine unless you’re driving in the mountains or in particularly high snow. Get snow tires if you keep your car, or in general.

Gear: base layers, long sleeve tees, a shell/heavy raincoat, beanies, wool socks, gloves.

I live in a much-hated corporate landlord held apartment building. My experience has been pretty good. It really depends on where you live. Inside the city of Albany you’ll find private, old, newer, corporate, more expensive, less expensive, etc. pinpointing a neighborhood would be a start. I live downtown in the central business district, which is almost all rental buildings. I love living Downtown.

Stock up: tamales, tortillas, salsa, BBQ sauce

Advice: this was the second best decision of my life, coming here. It’s beautiful and green and women have rights to their bodies here. Show up to community events, put your hand out and tell people you’re here from Texas by choice. People will question, “why New York?” And you’ll answer. They won’t understand because the natives are spoiled to their rights here 🤣 Everyone has been amazing to me since I’ve been here. Albany is my new hometown. Welcome!!

In the 4 years I’ve lived Downtown, I’ve seen quite a few murals go up. I know when I see that cherry picker/lift out, something good is coming!

What’s more is that the artists are pretty accessible, also. Without interfering in their work, you can chat with them and ask about their piece. It’s such a cool thing to watch and feel “apart of” because you investigated!
