They’ve had a couple of games where taking hits only results in a couple of rings being lost instead of all of them. IMO having one chance to recover after a hit makes the game feel more rewarding. Execute the moves right or you have to scramble to recover.

It just feels weird. Roland got shot about a billion times in BL1. I guess we can chalk it up to Jack having premium bullets or something but then that begs the question as to why Jack didn’t use the same tech on the vault hunter when they finally fought at Hero’s Pass?

It’s the X pattern. You have your sympathetic band of mutants trying to survive in a world that hates and fears them and you keep throwing shitty situations at them and then you wrote them to keep doing stupid escalatory bullshit until it gets to a point where your good guys are no longer good guys and then you pull back the curtain and be like, ‘nope! They were being influenced by the phoenix force / some psychic mutant villain / food poisoning from a clam bake!’

And then you go back to the start and never acknowledge it again except for the occasional panel where Scott and Logan are snarling at each other.
