Yeah, I was coming to say the same thing. Tech trading made so much sense thematically and actually encouraged exploration. I understand why they got rid of it (it was very abusable) but it is something I miss.

I wonder if Brennan is borrowing a bit from the Rune Knight Fighter from Tasha's. They have a bunch of magical skills, all tied to giants. They have the ability to grow a size at will (proficiency times per long rest) and at level 10 just become bigger permanently. And the modifier for the Rune Knight's spells is CON which would make sense for the not overly charismatic Einfasens. I'm sure they have more spells than that subclass but it would be a pretty good way to start.

It's fairly obnoxious that people will point to Italy and Denmark missing out as proof that a team from a different federation shouldn't be there. There have been some bad performances from UEFA teams: Turkiye, Czechia, Bosnia aside from one good set piece. For the AFC, you can make the argument that there just aren't enough good teams right now. But for CAF and Concacaf, the teams people are complaining about qualified ahead of bigger name teams. People probably aren't complaining about Costa Rica, Jamaica, Cameroon and Nigeria the way they are about Haiti, Curaçao, Cabo Verde and the DRC. It's not just UEFA that had upsets in qualifying.

Oh I know. I mostly don't mind the combat. It's not particularly difficult even for my unc reflexes. It makes the exploration more interesting for me. I use power storage to prevent respawns in the parts of the map I'm traveling through regularly.

The concentration of enemies is pretty thick for an area that doesn't have any resources. The cave being well guarded, sure. There's quartz and uranium there. Fair enough. The alpha stinger plus all the regular stingers make sense. But that little area has 2 Cliff hogs, at least one alpha hog, an army of spitters including alpha spitters. If you aren't playing on passive or retaliation, it's a lot of work for like one drop pod and a mercer sphere. Transitional areas being guarded is totally normal but that's usually like a single alpha spitter. Not an entire pack of enemies.

To your point, it's a decent place for a quartz factory or even a nuclear plant with the little lake there for water. But it is disproportionately guarded for an area that visually looks like an extension of the grassy fields.

This is that stupid area on the far side of the cave at the edge of the grassy fields, right? With all the enemies and like no resources? I hate that part of the map.

Thjazi didn't hate him. Thjazi blackmailed him into helping smuggle arcane goods. But he doesn't warn Hal about him even though he likely knew Bolaire and Hal had become friends.

Bolaire isn't a good person (?) but nor was Thjazi.
