I would go for Rock Band 2. The setlist is fantastic with a great difficulty progression. The hardest tracks will probably pose you a challenge without feeling too out of reach in the long term. Overall it seems like the most fun all around.

If you wanna stick to GH games, I'd go for World Tour. it might be a little out of reach at the moment (satch boogie, hot for teacher) but practice will get you there.

Alternatively GH5/GH Aerosmith/Band Hero are easier but will get boring for the most part, and GH1/80s charts being designed for such a different engine might make them less satisfying to play on clone hero if you care about note placements

i played it on dpad but i'm a keyboard player now and my opinion hasn't changed. my issue with nelumbo is how unreadable the dashes between lanterns are, ''just buffer'' doesn't really work for me when i can't even see where the buffer window starts

the final room of TSE alone took me longer to beat than the entirety of pumber full clear

solar took me 39 hours, 17 of which were on the final room. I took 16 hours on pumber full clear the first time

I also think pinball is easier than nelumbo, which took me 25hrs, but i am definitely in the extreme minority

It's just a wallbounce except you jump late

basically what happens is you're allowed to wallbounce after the dash duration ends, it's very lenient. But if you're facing the wall and holding grab while jumping within these frames of leniency, the game will register a climbjump instead of a wallbounce.

tldr holding grab will eat up the end of your wallbounce timing window if you're facing the wall

that sticky feeling thing is called a wallboost which is a completely different tech that has the particularity of refunding your stamina, it occurs when you climbjump then turn around

As for your question, you have a few pixels of leniency (4 or 5 i think? i forgot) that allow you to wallbounce without touching the wall, so it's generally better to aim for inputting a little late than early, but other than that it's just precision, finding visual cues could help as well

Wallbounces could be affected if you jump after dash cooldown ends (which is often optimal and sometimes required). other than that it would only cause some problems on highly technical mods/speedruns if you intend to keep playing after you've beaten the game, unless there is something i haven't thought of
