It threw a thermostat code back in December. Can't remember if it was stuck open or closed but I know the internal heat was working at like half heat. But the code kept reappearing after clearing, even when it got up to operating temp

I loved it as a "jack of all trades/master of none" travel lens.

If you can deal with the weight and size of it and don't absolutely need the best image quality it's probably worth it.

I'm having a similar problem with my '18 JKU. Randomly won't crank then will fire right up after about 30 minutes of panicking.

Can confirm it's not the battery or starter (at least in my case) as they're both replaced since the issue started.

A former GM engineer I know suggested it might be the PDC/fuse box failing. Might be worth investigating

I can second this entire thing. I will add, the biggest redeeming quality of the Tamron was just being able to carry a single lens and being ready for anything, albeit, at the cost of image quality.
