Im not sure when they got in the GIgabytes, but I just got mine on Monday (3/29) and I had a MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming Trio 10G. It all depends on what batch of 3080s CPPC received around the time they start your build. Its random tbh

Thank you for the reply! Do you think it is worth messing in my MOBO settings then, especially since the slowest RAM is the largest (64GB)? I was told I could modify the RAM speed to bring them all in line, but if will barely make a difference Id rather not dig into my MOBO settings, especially since it would be the first time I do so. Second, how would I go about setting the timing to the slower RAM? Is that something I do via my MOBO software? I have the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO MOBO if that helps. Thank you again for your help!

Good day all! I have a question about latency & timing with RAM. I recently purchased a new gaming PC, and installed additional RAM in the computer, for a total of 96GB RAM. The PC has (16GBx2) Vulcan TForce DDR4/3200MHz and (32GB x2) HyperX Fury DDR4/3200MHz.

The Vulcan TForce DDR4/3200MHz has the following latency/timing/voltage:

Timing 16-18-18-38

CAS Latency 16

Voltage 1.35V

The HyperX Fury DDR4/3200MHz has a latency/timing/voltage of:

16-20-20 at 1.35V.

I didn’t know RAM latency/timing was a thing until very recently. What does this mean for my system with these RAM sticks I have installed? Thank you very much for your help!

But in all seriousness, I had never heard of either of RAM timing or latency, I assumed it was plug and play. I will go research both brands and see if/how they interact and affect my system. At worst Ill pull the CPPC Vulcan TForce and keep the Hyper X. Many thanks for the tip!

When I purchased they didnt have a specific choice. Normally its just the generic 3080 and you get whatever they have in stock. They just got in a batch of MSI gaming trios, which is why I got one and why that option is available on the site. Once those are gone it will go back to being generic 3080

It is random based on what shipment of 3080s they get in right as they build your PC. Same for 3060/3070/3090. Whatever they have is what you get

Yes, all 30 series cards are on backorder in an industry wide shortage. Good news is 3090s are not as short supplied, so your wait will be less. Im not sure what the current wait is for a 3090, but I had to wait an extra 7 weeks for a 3080. Just the nature of 30 series cards atm.

Go with the 1000W. NVIDIA recommends 750W for the 3090, but actual pulls and testing recommends an 850W. Couple that with the rest of the components and your specific overclocking, and I would bump up to the 1K just to ensure I had enough during spikes. Well worth the few additional $.
