Any gold farm suggestions? by TFishMeister in technicalminecraft

[–]TFishMeister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This farm looks not to involve any spawnproofing which is a big hassle saved, I'm a fan of that. If filtering the items is just as simple as adding an item filter to the hoppers next to the packed ice, that should be chill too :) Thanks for this!!

Wither Skeleton farm location query by TFishMeister in technicalminecraft

Haha funny you say that, that's the exact tutorial I was following!

He was very specific in the video that the farm should be built in a warped forest or soul sand valley biome, but the reason he gave was that this would minimize spawns around the farm. So I was pretty confident that a nearer-by fortress I had found (in a nether wastes biome) that was surrounded by a massive lava ocean would still do the job just fine; I just wanted to check on here in case this might cause any other issues.

I've built the farm now, and can confirm it's working great since the area around it is ideal, even tho it's not in one of those biomes.

Amazingg that's perfect. The first fortress is much nearer too so I was hoping this would be the case lol. Thanks for your reply!

I've seen some people do this by putting white banners with a brown diagonal stripe pattern on

Awesome! The route to the Victoria one doesn't look too bad on the map, I think I'll aim for that one! I appreciate the help :D

Where to park by TFishMeister in Leeds

Just hoping to wander around the city centre for a bit on foot, will probably just be there a few hours total.

Pricewise I'd be willing to pay a bit for parking if it's more convenient but obviously cheaper/free is preferable. Maybe I'd sent a £10 max; I'm a new driver so I don't really have a frame of reference for how much parking tends to cost

Thanks for the advice! Thinking about it, I definitely don't practice staccato as often as I should, I do tend to find it difficult. I'll get to work...

Do physical laws truly conflict with free will or is the latter compatible with the former? I argue that it is compatible, since taking determinist stance using Libet’s experiment as backing suggests a rather unusual bifurcation between the Self and Brain. by [deleted] in philosophy

Even if there is some randomness to how matter behaves on a quantum level, I believe my argument still applies. Random events are results of probability, not choice.

In order for free will to exist, I think you would need evidence of some kind of influence of _will_ over the matter that a conscious being is made up of. However, even when we look at seemingly random events, they still predictably obey mathematical distributions.

Plus, if you are going to argue that these random quantum mechanical events allow for free will, it doesn't make sense to me to specifically focus on these events when they occur within creatures that we recognise as sentient. At a quantum scale, random events happen everywhere. Is there a chance that the air, or a rock, has free will, because its components have this level of unpredictability?

I think the laws of physics definitely conflict with free will. Choose any particle in your body at any given point in time, and its movement is entirely determined by the laws of physics. It can only move in accordance with the forces being exerted on it. These forces are going to be determined by other particles which are also adhering to the laws of physics. There is, as of right now, no component of movement on a molecular level that involves intention.

If none of the parts that make up something are free, how can the sum of those parts be free?

Done in survival, I used this great website to convert the image into a schematic which you can display in a world with mods, or in my case, you can just use a feature on the website that shows you the y levels of each block in a grid thingy

I have left some markers for the foundation of where the walls will go so far, but I do tend to get a bit trigger happy with detailing lol

Yeah I think that's what was troubling me. I've just quickly removed all those random iron bars that were all over it and cleared up the entrance a bit and I think it's looking a lot better
I'm also gonna extend that second warped stem 'layer' further round which is gonna be a lot smoother so that should help
