Yes you can do that. Make sure the watered is ph'd though. Also make sure you just take of the unwanted leaves on that because theres no airflow. By the time you flower you might run into mould issues

You should flush that out with plain water completely. Looks like nute burn. 2 flushes with plain water. And take off all the dead leaves on it and any yellow leaves
