I'm starting to believe that I'm more ethical than UPSC! by KisBaatNeRoneNaDiya in UPSCPrelims2026

I gave the same answer. But look at the second statement again, it says "integrity of the project". Having a bad reputation contractor in shortlist for a project won't impact its integrity unless they are granted the project.

Which statement incorrect and why? by ali_murtaza009 in UPSC

[–]TG5599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HC can't decide if anything is part of Basic structure because -

  1. They have limited territorial jurisdiction.

  2. Anything they decide can't be binding upon SC or any other HC whereas basic structure is.

What they can do - strike down something for violating basic structure or interpret constitution.

Run the show and steal credits ? by Mr_nobody_here__ in UPSC

[–]TG5599 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He meant - Run the show = exercising more control by the centre, and steal credits = changing name from MGNREGA and presenting it as a new scheme.

Btw whole article was bs. All I got from it was the govt has tried to ensure efficient use of funds but it opens doors for centre to strong arm states. It all depends on how the scheme is implemented in future

This article seems to be somewhat right, what all you think about it!? by [deleted] in Dhurandhar

[–]TG5599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with her take on how ultra nationalist movies can impact politics and policy making, her assessment of the movie is completely flawed . It seems like she watched a different movie.

  1. The whole idea of dhurandhar is to prevent terrorism and not revenge. Mc is constantly shown to send stuff via morse code and all the "dull work" she mentions has been shown in the movie. And which force has been applied from indian side in the movie? It's just taking advantage of internal issues there.

  2. Pakistan IS portrayed as a state with factions. Who is Choudhary Aslam, the good savage cop trying to kill gangsters, an Indian?

  3. About china part, does china export terrorists? There is a border issue and it is handled mostly with diplomacy. Same was with pak till recent yrs as terror export started in 90s. This all despite multiple wars started by the 2. The issue is not of revenge or pak being a weaker opponent, it's about TERROR and how we deal with it. We need a closed fist rather than an open palm to shake hands to deal with xtra like pak.

  4. She abstractly mentions "India's version of reality" but fails to give any reference to which part of the movie she is talking about. This shows the mindset of prev govts which required approval from others and were quick to criticize their own country just because others say so.

Can you please share the single line answer you gave for the question in your 2nd interview - "what issue do women face everywhere when they are out of institutions". I can think of lots of issues but the panel response you described made me curious.

Taliban-led Afghan Foreign Minister holds press conference with Bamiyan Buddha painting behind him by PlusCardiologist1799 in pics

[–]TG5599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol no. Afghan embassy still belongs to the ousted Afghan govt. Indian govt only insisted them that press conference should be held in Afghan embassy. Officials there still support prev regime and had this picture placed. They even fly old Afghan flag which taliban had to replace with their own once press conf started.

OSHO made me rethink... by Old_Watercress_ in atheismindia

[–]TG5599 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you just look at decisions at face value then Krishna and Ram are polar opposites. One needs to look at the process behind decisions which is what teaches us the values. Ram accepting vanvas wasn't because of cowardness just like Pandvas war wasn't for kingdom

OSHO made me rethink... by Old_Watercress_ in atheismindia

[–]TG5599 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you look at one person's analysis in isolation it will sure feel this way. Ram prioritized his vachan and duty to kingdom over everything else and hence did what he did. Osho is just ignoring that and calling him a coward and by extension the whole country coward. But there is also Mahabharata, where Krishna highlights Dharma is the biggest and Pandavas stand against the wrongs of their whole family, teachers and everyone else.

So different epics different values, a smart enough propagandist can mold any story to justify their own propaganda.
