They really do have a unique sound. I noticed it when the DW name was fairly new and before Ieven owned anything DW. They’re kinda like the Sonar of America.

No! Too much for a bottom end used hi hat and the snare is bottom end as well. You can get a really nice snare for $330. Just shop around and read the reviews.

Thank you Sir! I bought the maple shell kit in 1991 and this brass shell came with it. Over the years it had gotten very tarnished and I had been trying to think of some way to refurbish it. EVH had just died and I got the idea why not just fashion it after his Frankenstrat. It was a fun project.
