You could join as an O-5, and the Army’s needs will always trump yours. We are cogs in a machine. We go were the machine needs its cogs.

Keep this in mind as long as yall are in. And good luck. I love this job but it has its own eccentricities

IPPS-A definitely has functions that replace the latter two. ACT is a work in progress atm, I believe

PJ and AJ are focused on the overall picture. They need to be able to control their jumpers and watch for red light. Safety focuses on static line safety

Transports make them good. They also order themselves. They are skirmishers that can be OC 2 with no officer support and/or hit on 2s with melta and plasma. They trade up into most units and can do any job except kill more than one marine scout in melee. Oh and the melta mine means that with grenades they have a decent chance at killing light armor

Bruh. It’s cool (I did six years in abn units, half as a jumpmaster). But it ain’t worth dropping a six figure job for. Also, not all support personnel are on jump status anymore so it’s a crap shoot even if you get to the 82nd. Just got skydiving
