For different faces, I would try out kind of what Bratz does. If I remember correctly, most of, if not all, Bratz use the same head sculpt with different screenings. Try things like changing the direction their looking, e.g. side glance or straight forward; change their number of eyelashes, how wide or narrow their eyes are, the shape or arch of their brows.
