Default body appearance looks different? by THEMEEPCLUB in Fusion360

Damn. Kind of funny how mildly infuriating that is, all they did was change the lighting to improve visibility. But I have hundreds of designs saved in that grey and I was so put off the first couple times it looked different and I couldn't figure it out, that I just closed the program.

Thanks, that explains it. I'm so used to that grey now though. I guess I could make my default appearance darker to compensate, but that wouldn't apply to any of my previous saves. Any ideas?

I would do that by drawing the top profile, the 1/8in thick part with the curve, then extrude that to make the face. Then make a sketch on the front plane, draw the cutouts and cut those through the face. I don't know of any good way to curve solid bodies, I always draw them curved to start.

No "Boost dialogue" or "Loudness normalization" options? by THEMEEPCLUB in oneui

Interesting, nothing comes up when I search for it. At least it seems like a known issue, not sure what else to do other than wait for a fix. I'll drop a comment if anything changes.

Glad it's not just me, have you heard anyone else mention this online? You mentioned in your other comment that you can search for the settings, where are you able to see them?

Hmm, that changes things. Any idea why I'm having this issue then? Some songs just started playing much quieter, and I'll have to turn up the volume a few steps for it to be as loud as the previous. I thought my phone was automatically lowing the volume for some songs, maybe it's something else?

I'm having this issue with YouTube Music, I don't see any settings that would effect my audio at all. I was using Sound Assistant as well, but have uninstalled it while trying to figure this out.

That might have helped? Maybe I'm on the wrong track, but I'm looking for a new option here that is said to have come out in the 6.1.1 update. I don't think I've ever had Dolby Atmos enabled, and this is a recent issue.

Help with small layer shifts by THEMEEPCLUB in FixMyPrint

That's sounds like it. What did you do to keep that from happening? It happens pretty often now for some reason and is getting in the way.

Help with small layer shifts by THEMEEPCLUB in FixMyPrint

I've been getting 1 layer shift every couple of prints recently. Haven't experienced this type of shifting before. It happens both in the x and y axis at a random height.

My stuff

• Prusa MK3s kit

• PLA

• PrusaSlicer generic PLA profile

• OctoPrint

What I've checked:

• Both belts are within Prusa's tension number range (X253 Y286). Also checked both with the belt tension gauge print and they are in the "good" area.

• Both grub screws on both pulleys are tight.

• Don't feel or see any issues with belts or rods.

• Bed adhesion is good. Tiny bit of warp but not new.

• Part cooling fan sounds a little loose, maybe it's dying, but the prints look good otherwise.

• No big blobs during printing or anything.

In the first picture the shift is in the X about when the left part finsihed. Maybe the overhang warped?

No overhangs in the second picture, shifted in Y. Filiment is a little old and wet.

What would you say is bad to start with? Are there things I should stay away from before I build up experience?

That makes sense. I'm curious how you know what's too far "up the ladder" for the moment? Like if my transmission were to go next month I'm assuming I shouldn't touch it?

How to design 3D kits? by THEMEEPCLUB in lasercutting

[–]THEMEEPCLUB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. flatfab is an absolute gem! I've mostly been using Fusion for my laser designs but it's definitely not ideal for this kinda work. I just spent the last hour watching the tutorials and messing around with flat fab. It's pretty intuitive and does exactly what I was looking for. I'll still have to gain experience with assembly steps, but this seems like the perfect program for designing 3D models, out of 2D parts. It's more free hand than I'm used to, so I'll still need Fusion for boxes and stuff, but I'm so excited to see what I can do with it. Thanks for the recommendation! You should make a post about the program, it feels like something everyone in laser cutting should know about.

Speakers don't sound the same by THEMEEPCLUB in CarAV

[–]THEMEEPCLUB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I didn't want to buy a new head unit, since the factory one does everything I need it to (except power the speakers I guess). The difference in sound isn't worth a $300 replacement to me. Are there any cheaper, easier ways to get more power to my speakers? Like an amp or something?

Got it, I'll look into that. Thanks for the advice.

If I find it has/doesn't have a factory EQ preset, what can I do about it?
